Gonna quit smoking

Well me and the hubby are gonna quit smoking. In light of all that has gone on we have decided that now is the time. With gas being so expenisive and cigs. being 26.00 a carton(3 cartons every 2 weeks) we can only one or the other. And gas for work is more important. So if I become short with anyone in the weeks to come I hope everyone understands. Their will probaly be some vents from me in the NC17 folder when things get rough. So I hope everyone understands.

good for you ! we are also thinking about kicking the habit. a carton of cigarettes here is 40 bucks. with both us us smoking, it gets costly.

Dusty along with chewing gum and keeping busy there is another method I am using. I read this in my psychology book. You take a rubber band and put it around your wrist and everytime you think a smoking (or what ever your bad habit is) You snap the the rubber band. And the theory behind it is that you are teaching your brain to accociate pain with that habit. So far it seems to work but Iam only hours into this.

I hope you don't hurt your wrist with the rubber band. LMAO!!! But congrats on kicking the habit. I know a carton of marlboros here is 25 dollars. But at the indian smoke shops they are cheaper.

I call them "cancer sticks" If smokers wanna die sooner, it's fine by me, but I don't like people who smoke around others, it's rude. They really do control people, some people do awful things for a smoke, it's pathetic. HOORAY FOR KICKING THE HABIT!! :):):)

its not easy to quit a habit that you've had for 30 years. i only smoke in my room with the window open. my daughter kayla ****es about my smoking all the time. she is 16 and doesnt realize how hard it is to quit. my friends husband will sit and **** about her smoking. yet he goes and sits in smokey bars and gets plowed and drives home totaled.when he goes out and kills himself or worse yet, someone else, then he can blame it on that cigarette that she was smoking.

My mother is 42 years old now and she started smoking when she was 17. I was born when she was 21. By the time I was 10 I had already gotten my mother to stop smoking and then she started back up because she said she was gaining to much waight. I got her to quit again when I was 13. And another time when I was 15. Everytime she would stop smoking for about 8 months and then she would start back up because she was gaining to much weight. Now I can't get her to quit smoking when she needs to most of all. We are about to lose our house because she doesn't make enough money to pay most of the bills but yet everytime she gets more behind the more cigs she buys and then she b***hs at me for gipping at her. But she knows I will never stop gripping.

pd. sorry to hear your mother is struggling. why dont you get a job and help her out? its not too awfully hard to find jobs at 19. when you get to be 50 your job prospects dim condsiderably. but you are young and able bodied. fast food places are always looking for people

PD not to sound mean here. But if you are 19 leaving at home and not in school, why are you not helping with some of the bills. I understand your mom smokes and that can be very frustrationing for family members. But you do have to undestand that it can be very hard for some people to just wuit smoking and stay that way. I have been smoking since I was 12. I also started drinking and doing drugs at 13. By far the drugs and drinking were much easier for me to quit then smoking has been for me. I quit drinking and doing drugs when i was 19 shortly before getting pregnant with the 2nd child. And it was easy to quit. But smoking has been my worst demaon to ever quit. But one day I will quit but it takes time.

I have been trying to get a job since decmber of last year. Most places out here are looking for people with experiance and won't hire anyone who doesn't have experance plus there are alot of places that have closed around here so its getting hard by the day to find a job. I'm not in school because we don't have the money. I have been trying to get a job at fast food places as well. CVS won't even hire me.

Good luck to you and your hubby Rebel. The First Few days were easy for me but after a week its started to get abit nail-biting.My Michael smoked aswell just in the evenings and it was alot easier as we both quit together. I found that each time i have a craving i brushed my teeth and it reminded me how fresh my breath was. I also had to make a change to how i spent my time. I dont spend near enough time on the computer like i used to as that was my worst place for smoking ~ so i try to avoid it abit more.

I always found the hardest craving to get over was having a ciggie after i had eaten something~ or whilst i had an achoholic drink. I found taking the dog out for a walk helped alot aswell. Harveys never has never had so much exercise lol.

Well for me its been nearly a month and im at the point know where 99% of the time i dont miss them. That evil 1% creeps up on me when im feeling emotional .

After a week you will see your skin become brighter, your hair improves, my chest didnt feel tight anymore, the house smells great and so do you. Its a very empowering feeling quitting them as it is so difficult when you are addicted to something ...and the $$$$ you save ~that has to be the best thing..especially when you can go out and treat yourself to something you have wanted for ages. Its a great inncentive

Best of Luck Rebel

When people smoke cigarettes regularly, they lose a lot of Vitamin C, and their body gets used to exchanging it with some unnatural elements it receives from nicotine. That is why, in order to quit smoking faster, it is very important to start receiving more of natural Vitamin C. Oranges, lemons, black currants, pomegranates and other powerful natural sources of Vitamin C must be the best foods for everyone, who is trying to get rid of nicotine dependence. May be this will help you.

I am 100% against smoking. In my viewpoint, Its one of the most disgusting addiction to have. I would really love to see a smoking ban in my country. What do you think about it?
