Some of you may have already read this from another forum but I'm so aggravated I need alot of venting! LOL
Ok people and their dogs not tied up or on leashes! OMG If I could only strangel them!
Now I live on a dead end street and while taking my son for a walk I always take Storm. I get to the dead end and this big black dog comes running out from this yard. I know Storm is female aggressive and this dog is female. I snatch Storm up as this dogs comes running up to her. I start telling these people who are OUTSIDE WATCHING to get their dog. They just STAND there dumb founded! I ask them again to get their dog still nothing. I hate to admit it but after nothing worked I kicked their dog. Storm at this point is seriously annoyed, growling, snarling the whole nine yards. I knew that if this dog wasn't going to leave my only option left was to let Storm go and cross my fingers. Then this lil old man comes walking out after hearing me scream for these people to come get their. dog. He screams at the dog and she goes running off. Then they tell the man not to scream at their dog! He started screaming at them "Well you see this lady her child and her dog and your dog up their a$$'s and you do nothing but watch!" I told the man thanks and went on my marry way. I still hurd them screaming back and forth once I got home. I'm guessing that people at the end have had issues with them and their dog before.
Invest in a tazer. Next time just crack the tazer at the dog ( and let them hear it).....I bet that'll make them move.....unless they want to see their dog get fried (even though you wouldn't - they don't know that).
It IS a shame when people think their animals owns the streets we live on and the yards we own.
I usually carry pepper spray with me when I walk my dogs just in case this sort of a problem arises. I've never used it on a dog, but I have gotten it out to frighten irresponsible owners who make no attempt to control their unleashed dogs. It's amazing how quickly such owners will spring into action at the sight of pepper spray. And I think Ansy's onto something about the taser; a taser would certainly be dramatic.

I agree that aiming the pepper spray (with the safety on, you don't want to shoot your own dog, kid, and self by accident) will likely get the nimrods out to collect their dog. Ansy, a tazer-gun, you are so naughty...
I used to have a stun gun, but when I learned that they are illegal I quit carrying it. But I do carry peppar spray with me when I go walking. But usually a stray dog never approaches Oscar.
