It's because I have had an invisible counter on here since Jan. 31st when the site was created. I added in a visible counter last night because I wanted the site count to be public. Tonight I just changed its count to reflect the total visist since January 31st, since that is the accurate, actual visits this page has recieved. Hope this makes sense.
lol...well keep in mind that it is 17,000+ hits, not unique visitors. I have been tracking unique visitors since last night and so far there are nearly 600. Thats A LOT of people visiting, but not registering. Guess they just wanna see whats going on
Still, I'm very happy with 600 uniques in a 24 hour span. It's those 600 that have loaded this page 17,000+ times....this is the same method used for TP (which I admire for their statistics) who get 60,000+ pageloads per day. it doesn't mean that they had 60,000 unique visitors, just that their pages were loaded that many times.
It's actually a little decieving to those who don't know, but it sure helps get your rank up in the search engine!
Oh I know what it means. Everytime any at all looks here it is counted. Even those accidentl ones get counted. Since I posted it's gone up a good chunck. The more hits the higher on the search engine. Thats always a good thing!
