Question about PetMeds......

Remember my cat with the malfunctioning lip?  I eventually had to go on and get her the Steriod shot from the vet because her situation wasn't clearing up.  Since I give all my animals their vaccines, I thought PetMeds may have something for the treatment of Rodent Ulcers that I could give her myself and not have to spend an arm and a leg everything this thing flares up. 


I searched PetMeds for Rodent Ulcers and this is what it gave me - :

Has anyone ever used this?  It's not a shot, but an ointment or a drop.  I have never used PetMeds for anything, but with this ulcer flaring up several times a year, I was looking for a more economically sound way to treat it myself.  It says it can be used for 'ulcers' but it doesn't specify Rodent Ulcers.  I called a vet (my vet is on vacation) and they told me that they have never heard the term 'rodent ulcer' and couldn't help me


Even with the shot, she is looking really bad.  She is losing alot of hair and has sores on her skin.....like raw patches.  The vet is aware of it and says this is part of the disease, but i hate to see this.  She doesn't appear in any pain - she just looks awful.


What other places offer medications besides PetMeds?

the medicine in the link is for the eye......ophtophthalmic means relating to the eye

I seen that but figured that was its primary use, and that it could be used for other things as well because it says "Neo Poly Dex ophthalmic is used by veterinarians for various conditions including the treatment of susceptible eye infections, ulcers, scratches and allergies".


Maybe it means allergies, scratches, and ulcers accociated with the eye.

I have never bought anything online for Oscar. Buying everything at my vets is the same price as it is online also. I think I will just stick with getting everything here in town.

Only thing that I tried to buy was heartworm med and when they called my vet, the vet denied it telling me that you do not know what you are getting. It kind of made me mad at first, but they tell me that they (the vet) does not make any money off of their heartworm meds (I haven't really checked the prices that close to see if it is true).
