Selective hearing is definately one of the traits of dogs. They can hear the tiny crack of the refridgerator, but can't hear me screaming their name-my yard is not big at all, but digging a big hole must be important work. I could try yelling cookie instead of Tanya.
Oh, I agree 100%! Crack open the frig door and they come running from the other end of the house, have a vehicle they know turn into our road 5 houses & one sharp curve away & they're at the sliding doors with toys in mouth waiting and they haven't even seen the vehicle yet, but let there be a squirrel outside when they are and they are totally deaf and also suffer from tunnel vision!
