My dogs would eat the bed before they thought of laying on it. You are lucky. He is such a beautiful brindle color

I am lucky. He is around tons of toys all day long and he only plays with his. I had a lab once and he would have already eaten all the toys. Oscar is a very laid back dog. The only time he gets excited is when we go on our nightly walk.

That's why they say Danes are good apartment dogs. Mine have torn down the yard shade, 1st one side then the other, dug several 3 ft. deep holes and eaten a thankfully empty fty poison dispenser, so far this week. I was on the freeway last night on the way to work when I thought I had not clipped the pups cage shut, although I was fair sure both bolts were slid shut. I got home and heard this glass crashing noise, my 1st thought was well, bottles somewhere that will be messy, my 2nd thought was god no, don't let it be the computer/tv set. It was thankfully an echo of something my neighbor was throwing out, and mom's lil' angels:w00t were all safe in their cages. Which reminds me, they have been out long enough to have serious destruction done so I better bring them in now...

That is a great pic of Oscar!  They are such big lovable oafs!

When we got our first great dane, Samson, at night him & our mixed breed used to sleep in our bedroom.  We lived in a 2nd floor apartment and we did that so our downstairs neighbors wouldn't have to listen to them if they decided to romp around at night.  One morning I got up early leaving hubby & dogs sleeping, or so I thought.  Shortly thereafter I heard a loud "OH, NO!  HELP!"  with lots of laughing.  Into the bedroom I run to find Samson standing on the bed, straddling my husband's body, terrified to move.  We had a full motion waterbed and he was so scared and the way he was standing my husband was boxed in & couldn't get out.  After I got my own laughing under control I was able to convince Samson it was time to get off the bed.  Needless to say, he never attempted that again.

KM, I rememebr with our lab he would dig these giant holes that at night you couldn't go in the back yard because you were lible to fall in one and never get out. We called them our booby traps.

And meg, he is a total lap dog. I love it most of the time but sometimes I don't feel like having him lay on me. But he will give these puppy dog eyes until you finally let him up there.
