We took our 7 Standard Poodle pups to the vet today for their first check-up and vaccs. Besides trying to get 7 puppies in two 300 crates into a cramped waiting room full of a lot of other pets, all went well. The biggest boy was 8.5 lbs and the little boy was 5.5 lbs. They were pronounced very healthy!

WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! They are truly beautiful. Probably the most beautiful of the breeder dogs I have seen showcased. Their coats are absolutely stunning. I mean the richness of their coats is to die for.
Absolutely beautiful. Do you have a pic of the mom and pop.
Thanks Stormy, but the first one didn't show up. I figured out what I did wrong. Tyson, their mom is a blue. She just turned blue in the last year. Any of these pups may turn blue also. Remember my Kisses, the brown one with the bad eye?
Lily: The mom (60 lbs./24")
Billy: The dad (82 lbs./28.5"
Kisses: the dingy brown (on the right)

I remember my Kisses..she is my favorite.. I love her everytime I see her it makes me want to cry. She is so pretty.
Is the correct term for a black blue? Or is blue the color of their dad?
He is handsome. beautiful features.
Are you pretty well known for having great quality standards? Are you a member of any clubs for Standards?
They are so pretty. They truly are stunning. I am in love with how black they are and the coat is so velvety. I love poodles but Standard size only. I don't like the way the smaller ones age. How long do Standards live?
I love when people walk them in the parks. The Standards always walk with such showmanship and they prance and walk on their tippy toes like they know they are special. Like Afghans. It is like they know they were bred to be showpieces. Are any of the puppies "strutting" or walking the walk?
No, none of them are strutting yet. Lily the mother is a blue. She is black in the picture though. She just turned blue in the last year (I need to update her picture). Blue is a shade of charcoal and varies in the tone from a lite to dark charcoal. The dad is black, he just looks washed out in the picture.
Kisses is my favorite also. She is such a goof ball. She's a real sweetheart. They call browns the true "blondes" of poodles. (Sorry blondes, no offense)
Standards easily live to 14-15 years.
Here's a picture of Libby, a daughter of Lilys' last litter that we are keeping.
Libby: She's about twice this size now. Approx. 50 lbs.

Hard to tell at 6 weeks of age. The little one (White Guy, #2) seems the most co-ordinated. I'm sure they'll all be smart enough to do anything they are trained in though.

I love them!!! They are beautiful. My daughter wants a poodle. She loves them. I am a bit sentimental towards poodles and I can't bring myself to get another just yet but when I do it will be a standard. The one I had was a toy. I'll post the story in the other thread. She wants to show. She's only 6. Maybe when she's 10 or so.....
