You can either by some special stuff to put in his food, or you can just add a teaspoon of Olive oil or Flax seed oil to his food. Give it a few weeks and you should see improvement. Don't give him a bath too much...unless using a soap-less shampoo. I have one from petedge.com. It is a soap-less oatmeal shampoo...it does lather up, so you still get the soapiness.
Chloe is sweet. Try feeding Nutro Natural Choice. It guarantees the improvement of skin, hair. One stud dog that I used was on some decent, but basic food, he had dandruff. I told the man to feed my bitch his food and use the Nature's Recipe [puppy] on his dog. The dandruff was gone in 3 days. Unless it was all the guess we'll never know. I feed puppy kibble. I have never seen dandruff. I am in So Calif.
Erica...what a set of beautiful pics...I love the ones of your daughter...the look on her face in Dads BDU's..purely kodac moments..you should be very proud...and I like the pics of the pup too..I never mentioned or asked..is it a GSD? I have 3 GSD's...and love them very much...but..Im not loyal to them...I love others too..Standard poodles..and especizlly bulldogs..I love them to pieces...but I researched all the problems..and figured they would not be a good bred for me...But I sure can appreciate them...Keep up the good work...and keep the pics coming...they are great...Thanks for sharing...(my little "girly girl" is about to turn 14...and a pure tom boy now...but she used to be such a little princess...hold on to that moment as long as you can...)
I use baby oil on my Dobermans when they go through dry spells it helps out alot. I use regular old cooking oil in their food too. Now my mom has a lot of dandruff problems with her Dobe and she actually uses olive oil on her skin. But your pup is long haired right? That could be messy. lol I was always told that any shampoo that suds up has detergents in it and is not good for the dogs skin because it dries it out.

Yes Calvin is a German shepherd / corgi mix. He defiantly has the look and attitude of a german shepherd but has short legs and a little bit of a longer body loke a corgi. His hair is medium length. He actually doesnt shed too bad! Maybe i am just use to my cats shedding though LOL I am still searching for the right food so i will try the Nutro Natural Choice. We will see how it goes.
My daughter is actually both a girly girl and a tom boy! Shel oves to dress like a girl and wear nail polish and all that but then goes and plays in the dirt and mud! LOL Oh well i get best of both worlds with her.
Erica..I wonder how the Corgi/shepherd thing happened...what a visual...lol..And yes...Being both girly girl and tom boy is the best of both worlds...I would just like to see more femine ways here...she is not equal in her ways it seems...lol..
Dallas...just to add...with your bred of choice if olive oil helps cut down shedding at your place..Im going to get some tomorrow...My Mother used to say it was good for cradle cap in babies..I didnt have that problem with my 2...but they are older now...(9 & almost 14)
huron- i have ofter wondered about how a corgi and shepherd bred too LOL I think the mother was a corgi and the father was a german shepherd...or so i was told by the shelter. There is definantly no question about him being a mix of the 2 breeds though!!! LOL
