I just picked up my dogs from the groomers today (a new one) and they both have clipper burns all over. I didnt notice them until they were rubbing their faces on the carpet and starting to bleed. Should I put something on it? I am going to complain to the groomer, I never had this happen before.
How bag are they bleeding. On occasion mine will get a clipper burn. I usually put a dab of lotion on it. Its usually gone in a day or less. Last time I put Bag Balm. They sell it at walgreens, I'm sure you could find it. Aloe vera works too. If is bad you may need an e-collar just till it heals some so they don't irritate it more.
This is why I refuse to go to groomers now. Though I have to admit that I have shaved my cocker spaniel and he has gotten clipper burns. The one time this has happend it was only on his chest. But to have them all over is something I would be very upset about. I would take the dog right back and show them and ask for my money back. You paid for a grooming not the burns.
Bag balm is awesome. I don't use aloe because they tend to lick it and get sick. I hope your baby feels better soon.

puttin510, you must have the short tounged poodle breed . There are topical sprays that you can use on clipper burns that helps the itch. Sorry, can't think of the name of it right now. Generally (at least with poodles), the lighter the hair, the more sensitive the skin. Our apricots are very sensitive, and so is Kisses the brown. My wife hates trying to shave along their mouths. The bigger ones have more folds and wrinkles than the small ones, and those surgical 40 blades are close. She usually does the ones other than black with a 30 blade.

I was a groomer and clipper burns happen but not to an extreme. They happen with major matting but i doubt your pups had a lot of matting on their faces. Your groomer needs to take care with hot blades.
Yes, aloe is poisinous when ingested. I know they can't lick their faces that easy but just be careful. The bag balm is a good idea.
