It is stories like this that make me sooooo mad! The good news is that the authorities caught the responsible parties but as happens so many times I don't think the maximum charges & punishment will follow.
Wow, kids can be so cruel sometimes. My mom had a dog (shetland sheepdog) come in to her grooming shop to be groomed and i noticed that it had several long scars on the front of all his legs. I asked her what they were from and she said that the owners noticed him missing one day out of their back yard. The went looking and put up signs for missing dog but nothing. After a few days, the lady came home from work and saw blood all over her front walk. She ran up to the door and there was the dog, half dead. She rushed it to the vet and they determined that someone had grabbed him and flayed the front of all his legs. They investigated it with the police and found out he was taken from their yard by some kids and after they had flayed his legs, let him go to die. He had walked several blocks back home. The dog was lucky it servived. It sucks when kids are not taught how to treat animals and you never know when they are safe in your yard.
Wow..two of the most horrific stories i have heard in a long time..I have seen a lot doing rescue work in my years..But it doesnt make it any easier to hear..I feel for both of the victims families..I have seen stupidity and age plays a major roll in animal cruality. I have seen people try to castrate their dogs with rubber bands..and only to have total gangreen set in and the poor mutalated suffering animal be mersalessly put to sleep..I have seen the same method used to dock tails too..on older dogs as well..Seems the same stupid notion isnt issolated to one person or one area..I feel for all involved in these stories..but I think that more animal aggression is on the rise...and we will see later in life..more sick mass murders because they graduated from cruality to animals to humans..Sad fact..I wish I had the fix..
We had a story on our news recently about a man who's Yorkie ran out of the apartment before he could grab him. The dog made it to the parking lot where 2 teenagers decided to play football with him. They kicked the dog so hard it killed it. The owner is now taking them to court for $10,000.
It really bothers me when children grow up thinking that this behavior is ok. It very often is the first signs of physical abuse which they will later display in their own relationships (wives, girlfriends, etc).
