LMAO!! That's too friggin funny!! I know ppl do that all the time at the nursing home where I work. Or they'll call in, saying they're just soo sick, and I'll see them out and about that nite, after I get off WORK!! Don't things like that just piss you off?? Sounds like that is stupidity at its best!! lol

An excuse I heard was when I was a manager at a pizza place a kid called in because he was sick with the West Nile Virus. Considering it wasnt summer and he wasnt over the age of 65 it seemed pretty impossible that he actually had this virus. About a month later he showed up working at another store in the pizza chain. I also had a driver who called in one night because he said his car was in the shop and wouldnt be done until the next day. And sure enough about 2 hrs later he pulls into the blockbuster video that was in the same plaza as the store in his car. We also had this cook who would call in at least once a month saying someone had died. I think in one year he lost 2 cousins, 1 uncle, and 8 grandmothers. These kids were soooo dumb.

LOL......that's funny. Actually West Nile affects any age. We have an outbreak here right now and the place is getting sprayed for the next 3 days.

I work in the kitchen of a nursing home, and we have always the same damn people calling in, saying that they're sick or their kid is sick or they have to take them to the doctor, or something like that. Yes, I do know that emergencies happen, but every weekend that you have to work??? NO, I do not believe something just "happens" like that, lol. I may have been born in the dark, but it wasn't last night!!

I had West Nile Virus last year, as far as I know... ticked the pehoots out of me that I needed time off.The fever lasts for a week...No other symptoms....

REAL high fever...Long lasting...needs antibiotics. Non transmissible, but nobody should suck your blood, unless they enjoy heat...

I have to say that I have had my job for 14 months now and I have not missed one day. I am pretty reliable when it comes to work. Plus if I miss a day I don't get paid. We don't have vacation or sick days to take.

I never miss work unless I truly am sick or there is some other emergency. I hear lots of lame excuses to, pretty much most of which have already been mentioned, lol.

Ah!! More reasons I love working at home by myself!! If do nothing and Russ comes home and asks how much I got done...I give him the look of death and he leaves me alone!!! lmao.

Then I have other days I work AAALLLLL day.....my choice....no rejects to deal with either!!

OH! Many a moon ago...I was at work and our manager came out steaming...this guy called of work, said his cat ate his stash and he had to wait around to see what happened. I knew the guy and it didn't really happen, but that was the excuse he came up with. Isn't it strange that she wanted to send him for a drug test?? Isn't it strange how he never showed back up??

wow, some ppl can be oh so *smart* lol . OMGosh, there was this one girl at work one time who called in saying she couldn't walk, because she broke her ankle....but half hour later i saw her walking...*ON BOTH LEGS* totally fine.........some ppl!
