Well, it had looked like I wasn't going to have to take anyone to the vet after the nasty fight, but Manson has to go tomorrow. He had a bite at the bottom of his ear-- where it attaches to his head-- and now it is oozy and smells exactly like something that is dead and rotten. I imagine they will clean it out and put him on antibiotics. I might see if they will give me enough for Bosco too. His wounds are not infected, but being bites, it wouldn't surprise me if they end up infected.
Well, yesterday I decided he must go to the vet, because of the dead smell. I bathed him and washed that ear really well, and then I put some eardrops in his ear that I had from when Missy had an ear infection. In the morning, the ear did not smell. So I put in more ear drops and I cleaned the wound with diluted alcohol. And I did not take him to the vet. He seems to be okay, though I am watching him closely. Now I am keeping his ears clean with a solution from the vet (from when Missy had the ear infection) and giving him ear infection medicine, and putting antibiotic ointment on the bite. He seems to be improving, and no dead smell. I wonder if the bite got somewhat infected and it spread to the inner ear? Because the dead smell reeked of ear infection.
