Well my trip started out at 4AM this morning and ended at 3PM this afternoon! 11 hours!
When we first got in the interstate a fox decided he wanted to run out infront of us! Well the only other person for miles around us decided he wanted to ride our bummper so when the fox decided to run we had 2 options hit the fox or hit our breaks and cause a crash, so we hit the fox. My hubby was SO MAD! He wanted to stop in the middle of the road and beat the guy behind us. He felt so bad for hitting the fox.
After that everything was OK just long and boreing. Once the sun came up I broke the cam out and started taking pics. Only one from the morning came out so here it is.
Alligator Ally, runs right threw the middle of the Everglads in south Florida.
These are from the ride home. Again Alligator Ally.
The main reason for this pic was because I was trying to get a pic of the Super Max Prison, it's located in the middle of the Everglads. Well, you can see it while driving but you can't see it in this pic. It looks like a big group of trees, but you can see the power lines running out to it.
More Alligator Ally. Now you see why I said it was a Boreing ride this is was we looked at most of the ride.
While driving back I could actually see Punta Gorda which was the worst hit area when Hurrican Charlie went threw. Let me tell you it looks horrible there. There is still signs and roof pieces in tree tops, where there was once trees is piles of trees. There was a huge group of trailer lined up for about at least a mile 5 wide that is temp houseing for hurrican victims. I can't imigan how it looked after Charlie compared to what it looks like now. Houses still in rubble untouched. I know next time a hurrican is comming no matter where they say it will hit me and hubby both aggred that next time we are outta here!
And last but not least my new friends! LOL I was about 3 feet away is that when I took these pics. The largest one had to be at least 17 feet, doesn't look that big but he was a monster!
This was the smallest one prolly about 4 feet long.
Biggest one..
Have no idea how long this one was....
This sign killed me! I know what they mean but I guess when you've been up since 3AM on only a couple hours sleep you look anywhere for a laugh!
On a funny note, You should have seen the looks we were getting with a dirt bike hanging out my trunk, spare tire in the back seat, and riding gear everywhere in the car!
I haven't been to Florida since I was 12 years old. I was going to go not long ago but being 8 1/2 months pregnant that doctor felt it was best for me to stay home. But I have family in Fort Walton Beach and Gulf Breeze. I just love Flordia. One of these days I will have to take Kaitlyn. Nice pictures. And that house is so cool.
Your pics made me so jealous. I miss living in Florida. Was stationed there for a few years and keep swearing I am moving back.....especially after getting snow in April here BBLLEECCHHH
MPP where were you stationed here in FL? They are talking about closeing MacDill AFB! Than again they have been for sometime now. If they do poor south Tampa will have nothing at all! LOL
My cuz was at NAS. That is where she did most of her training. She was one of the 2 people picked for SeaMan of the year 2 years ago. She didn't win but just being considered is a big thing! My brother in law was also there but that is also where he went AWAL (sp?) from partying to much LOL!!
