I was too lazy to look up the thread I started about the dryer sheets and your dryer....
but, I went to Sears this weekend to help MIL get a washer. I asked the lady about any truth to it and she said "Absolutely!" It really is an issue and many people have no idea about it....so...not all emails are useless! lol
I appreciated your sharing the info with us. I cleaned mine and was amazed! I have also shared the info with everyone in my address book as well as all the gals at work. None of them had ever heard it before but they all went home & cleaned theirs too!
Even though you clean your dryer vent...there can be residue from the dryer sheets that you don't see. Pull it out and run water on it....most likely, if you use dryer sheets, the water will sit on it and not run through quickly. But if you wash it with mild soap and water, then run water over it, it will rush right through it. In other words, dryer sheets leave a residue you can't see and it will cause your heater to go bad on your dryer. Most people don't understand when their dryer gives way it was caused by over heating because the vent was clogged and they didn't think it was.
