Nice show, saw most of my Champion owning friends...I won one basket in the raffle, gotta split it with my mom, I get the throw/seat cover, she gets the nicknacks, and dog cookies.[I put in $20., she put in $10]. I got there 15 min. before the raffle started and did not have to run over anyone to get there on time. Traffic sucked. My friends' Labrador, with hunting titles, did well in the ring, also. He won open black dog, and made the cut for best of breed, but did not take that...I met a lady with some pretty dogs who was from Arizona, she was in BOB, also. Turns out several of my friends have litters of pups, like I do. One woman, who owns Kitty's grandpa, and other Champions, whelped pups this morning... Now, I have a mild sunburn, and am purty tired, and am going to work...[droop]. You guys will all be in bed when I get home so I just popped in to say hi.
Well, sounds like you had a great time!! Congrats on winning the basket. That sucks that you have to go to work, after all that and being so tired though.
I wish there were more dog shows around here. We have one a year but I always seem to miss the Danes. Thats cool you won a raffle. I never when any of those. Have fun at work.
Well, I survived work. Got an earlier, longer shift tomorrow. Actually, I am so good at what I do, that with minimal help, I, as Roxy says, rock...I hope that I rock tomorrow, too. The prize I won, it was a big cellophane bag, that mom and I needed to split[according to me, just my way of thinking]...I went to mom's w/the unopened package, after work. She had kicked in on the tickets. I claimed the sheep fleece sided car/couch throw for mine. Mom got the black and white checkered deco bucket, the trimmings, the ceramic black field Lab coaster holder, for the living room table, the plastic container w/ dog treats, and topping it all off- was a black Lab beanie baby, that was added to the collection of my neice, who honed in on that item in a second. She is an avid collector, had been grandma's[bad] little brat today, and is so glad to get a new addition to her carefully monitored collection. I hope she tries to be nice to grandma this week...The collection of items could not have been more selected to us if gods of other universes had vyed for possession of our favor...
Wow..Kitty..what an eventful weekend you are having..I never win anything.. But I am glad that you and your Mom won the basket. I think it is so much fun at dog shows..I wish they had more in Michigan too...I had to travel 4 hours one way to see one..But I was my birthday and I enjoyed it. Im glad that you got a while to rub elbows with the lab elite set...sounds like fun...I know that the bumber is working after so much enjoyment...But the weekend is almost over now..I hope you had more fun today...
Yah, Huron. Hobbing with the snobs and the hootsie snootsies...I hope to one day have better dogs than they do. It is real interesting what is called a Lab in a dog show. Tiny, low to the ground dogs, real heavy bodied. There were some real nice ones there that had a grace to their form, not over jowled, too wide heads, and had both hunting and show titles. There were also those animals with the more popular bodies, breathing like locomotive on a steep grade, and looking like duck hunting is the last thing on their mind. But to each, their own. I don't breed to their standard[they set it according to what they think a Lab should look like] I breed to my own. I am told that I am old fashioned in my tastes...
