UGH!!! I broke up with my ex about two months ago. When we were together i let him borrow my laptop! Well he moved while me were still together and couldnt find it but said it was probly in his garage, at the time i didnt think anything of it. Well we broke up and i have been asking for it back. He said he thinks his old roomate stole it. I told him it needs to be replaced, either with money or a new laptop of equall value. He said ok, its been over a week, i keep asking when i will get it and he says he is working on it. I told him today that i know he gets paid today so i want it tonight or by tomrow. He is mad at me now cause he knows i am seeing someone knew and he is being a jerk. I want my money or a new laptop and he is driving me nuts! I told him i am going to his house tomorow and he better have the money there and ready. I also told him i am not going alone and that my mom is coming with me.
If he doesnt have it what do i do, how can i get it back? I did buy him a snowboard for xmas and i could always just take it back. I bought it for 200 but it is worth more then that.I could always sell it. Im just so mad. sorry i had to get it off my chest!
Sue him. Take him to court and get your money back. He will have to pay court costs as well. You may need to start with taking out a warrant on him. It will cost you about $70 up front but he will have to reimburse you for that as well. Act quickly. Let him know you mean business.

well i have been messaging with my ex telling him i want the snow board if he cant replace the laptop or give me money for it. He keeps beating around the bush. Anyway after about an hour of texting he said he will figure out what he is going to do an call me tomorow buthe also said "I really dont owe you anything" I got pissed!!!! I told him that he does and to call me tomorow. What can i say to him to make him give me the board or at least something. He offered to give me a nicer moniter and key board then i have now, but i need a laptop, not a new monitor and keyboard. It will also be easier for me to sell the board then it would be to sell a monitor and keyboard. I could also keep the board and use it if i wanted to. Ugh! I hate drama!
I would do exactly what Grim said, Syd. Or get some dude to kick his bootie. haha. I guess you wouldnt get your money that way, so nevermind..But yeah, smalls claims court isn't that expensive, but you will need some form of 'proof' or a super solid story. Otherwise it'd be your word against his. If he doesn't have the laptop are you willing to let him set up a monthly payment plan so in case he doesn't have the lump sum? Assuming you can get him to agree, of course. Also, if you do have anything of his worth anything, let him know you will return that as well. If nothing else, learn your lesson and walk away, chalking it up to life experience.... Good luck!
