neighbors

i get along with most everyone and even when i.m in a bad mood ,i can still plaster a smile on my face, but sometimes people just wear out my patience ! my neighbors are an older couple ,and they have four kids between their 30-4o's and several grandkids from 20 on up. they are very nice people but the other day the one grandaughter was over and she had a little pom. well my two frenchies were up on the bed and saw the pom and starting  barking at the window.she saw my two and came up to the window and was oogling over them through the window. next shes at the door wanting me to bring them out to show her mom and dad . so i did. and had to tell all about them .about an hour later shes at the door again wanting me to bring them out again to show her grandparents (who are my neighbors) and she had me tell them again all about them. well today i was lazy and walking around in my p.j's and here she comes again and wanted me to bring them out and show her husband ! so i had to dress quickly and go through the whole thing again ! and when they get out in the grass they hop around like rabbits and play hard to catch. then before she goes she tells me she was going to bring her sister by tommorrow evening to see them ! how do i deal with them without being rude ? i love my frenchies and they are so rare in this state that we get mugged with admirerers whenever i take them anywhere, but enough is enough !

I just wouldn't answer the door. We live by my son's school and people drop in a lot. If I don't feel like having company or my house is not clean enough, I just don't answer the door...lol They can't tell I am home because my car is in the garage....

Hey Dusty,

I'd be rather annoyed at my neighbor!! I wouldn't open the door or if I did, I'd say something sassy like "why don't I just give you a key?" or "I'm going to have to start selling tickets."

Maybe then she'd get the hint...by the way, you must really have some pretty doggies :)

That sounds very annoying. I'd tell her that if you see the curtains closed to not bother you. You really love your privacy. If she likes she can take a picture of them and show them to everyone of her relatives. LOL

wow, i'd be flattered by her wanting to show them off to everyone.  but i would also be so incredibly annoyed.  that would drive me nuts if she was at the door all the time.  just kinda tell her in a nice way to back off. lol

You know what?
I had new neighbors this year, w/ the same kinda thing going on.
She is trying to be friendly, and to get the relatives interested in what she has to say. It will get old fast, and you would swear that she doesn't know you in a while from now.
Be patient, but don't let her start on all the neighborhood kids w/the same routine. Be in control, say, oh, not right now, as you can...

That would be annoying. Lucky for me everyone in the neighborhood knows Oscar so they never bug us when we are out. But maybe you should just hand her a picture and tell her to show her friends that way. I'm not sure what I would do in that situation.

well guess what ? i was right in the middle of cooking breakfast when the knocking began. my daughter answered the door to a mob ! . and beings it is raining here they all traipsed in tracking mud all across my light grey carpet ! i am a stickler when it comes to a clean house. i make everyone leave their shoes on the tile by the door. but they just marched right in before i could say anything .she had what i refer to as a "tour group'. i collect bearly people bears. they are twenty inch jointed bears dressed in victorian outfits. i have over 70 of them and they all cost between 50 -150 bucks. so the two little girls started grabbing them off one of the tables and trying to pull their hats off ! they all just starting sprouting out all over my house. quinn came to the rescue. he is a very big guy with a big voice and very fatherly over our two frenchies. he hollers out. everyone front and center !!  it got real quiet and they all appeared in front of him.lol .then he explained how they were disrespecting our home and he didnt mind showing them the pups. but please make arrangements ahead of time and one of us will be more than happy to show them the pups. on a nice day...outside ! and he showed them all to the door.  god i love that man ! lol
