I'm so happy!!

I bought new couches today. I am so excited. They won't be in until Friday though. I got them pretty cheap too. We are going to end up paying 1450. Yay!!! Here is a pic of the couch. We went for more of a traditional look. If the pic doesn't work here is the link. http://www.lacks.com/ic280frm.asp?prodno=904490

It's pretty. Are the cushions made onto the couch, though, or separate? I think if they are separate, at my house, I would spend a lot of time putting them back where they go.

Wow. Paige...very pretty...i like it very much..looks soft to the touch too..Does it had a sold back or just pillow back..I personally dont like an all pillow back..i have one and ended up putting it in the basement for the family room...the seat kind of moves over time with the non secured backs..But I love the legs and the traditional look. Did you end up getting the pooch a couch too..or did you figure out how you were going to handle the dog and the new furniture deal? I hope that you all can come to a compromise..it is hard...most danes do love the couch and it is hard to get them to stop once they start going on furnitere...Let us all know..tank care and congrats...

Thanks guys!! And yes its a pillow back. Our couch now isn't and the back looks awful. Its an Allen White brand. I did find couches that were similar at a clearance center but thats where we got our old couches and they have fallen apart. So no more clearance center shopping for me. The new couch is chenille(sp) and very soft to the touch. And when we sit on it you melt into it. I actually paid 1150 but the interest added up some. And huron, I am trying to find a dog bed thats big enough for Oscar. If I can't find one it looks like I will have to make him one.

Hey, find an old baby crib matress and cover it with something you can throw in the wash. That should be big enough for him. Just a thought.

The furniture you bought is very pretty!!

I have thought of a crib matress but its too bug for the living room. Or at least the corner where it will have to go. I was thinking of a round one. I really don't know, but I'm gonna have to buy one soon because the couches will be here on Friday.

I was at a thrift store two days ago and they had one of those round ones, it folded in half. I considered getting it for Rocky. I had set it down to look at lawn chairs and forgot about it! DUH!  My mega memory is a real pain at times. I got home and said "Da&%, I forgot the mattress." Wonder if it is still there??!!  lol

Another thought. We have a surplus junk store near us and they sell foam. You can get it in many sizes and various thickness. Do you have any place like that. To me it is a little exspensive, but would have to be cheaper than some of those huge dog beds I have priced.

I figured I could make a dog bed cheaper than buying one. I thought about making something like a slipcover than just buying bed pillows to put in it. I'm not sure though. I'm not very good when it comes to making things.

A lot of dog catalogs have beds for large dogs. Looking at them the crib mattress is about the same.

What about a big rectangle ottoman?, that way he can still feel like he is jumping up on something. They are nice looking too. Maybe Brad and you can make one.

What about futon cushions or maybe lawn chair cushions, just a thought.

Very nice sofa. You think you will be about to keep him off. I have one particular dog thats not sposed to be on the furniture, but I know he does. His hair is proof. LOL
