Ever since the dogs lost their room to my best friend, Winnie my lab has been crying in the mornings by my door, it always wakes me up. My best friend hears it too. I feel bad for Winnie, she doesnt need to go out or anything yet she still whines. I've tried many differnt solutions like keeping her in my room at night, but she still cries. Lastnight she started whining after one hour of being in my bedroom, she kept it up and i tried putting her in the large crate i have in the dining room. I thought that way if she did whine she wouldnt be by anyones door doing it. Well supposdely Winnie kept everyone up lastnight. My roomate asked what i was going to do about it. I;m not sure there is anything i can do about it, there is no where for me to put the dogs where no one could hear them if they cried. I told my roomate that the dogs lost their room to my bestfriend and there is no where for me to put them and until she moves out and they get their room back, there will be nothing i can do.
Why do u think Winnie is crying in the first place if she doesnt need to go outside or eat or anything? Is it all the change? She might have cried before when they had their own room but since they were in there with the door closed no one could hear her. So i dont know what to do.
Winnie wants her room! We'd cry too if someone took our bedroom. Your friend has alot of gall to ask you that. I say give her a time limit to get out if she doesn't like it. Your dogs have been uprooted from their night time ritual. Winnie wants things to be normal again and that isn't going to happen until your friend moves out.
I would let Winnie whine at their door all night. Maybe she will move out quicker.
Sorry winnybis up set and crying..but like you said until the friend leaves you dont have too amny options...Im sorry that there is no good fix for this sittuation...tell the friend she has a time limit so you can get your house back in order...
This is your best friend? Im sure there is a way for you two to solve it ,without being harsh.I don't know the circumstances of you friend moving in.Was it to be temporary?
Winnie is bored, and there are too many people there, and she senses turmoil. Cage her in your room with a good toy, maybe marrow bones or something and a lix-it bottle w/ a drip catch on the side. Mine are real happy campers like that. You can get the x-large cages at http://www.drsfostersmith.com They are about $100. and $10. shipping. Make sure there is a fan, if the room is warm.
Well lastnight i didnt hear her cry. i kept her in my room with my fan on high so it was loud, hoping that if she did cry i wouldnt hear. It worked lastnight hopefully it will keep working.
I have an air cleaner in my room that does that, too. It makes a white noise that covers a lot of little noises that would normally bother me, like the dog shifting positions, farting, etc...
Dogs love to be on schedule, they love to have things a certain way. It would have been good for her to ahve two beds, then she could revert to her other comfort spot. She just wants her life the way it was. She will get used to it though.
