Anyone having any suggestions on how to get a cat use to a harness and leash?
I tried once with Isabelle. This is what happened. I put her on my lap and slipped the harness on while I was petting her, then while she was still on my lap I clipped on the leash. I put her on the floor and dropped the leash, the second she touched the floor she freaked out, jumping five feet in the air and running all over the house freaking out. I ran around trying to get the leash off and finally i was successful, after the leash was off she seemed ok, so i let her walk around for a couple minutes with the harness on.
How can i get her use to the leash? Should i hold it? I think Izzy would really enjoy going outside but I will only let her go if I have control.
