mold

I have a question. Someone once told me that when you use your sprinklers on your lawn to do it in the morning, cause if you do it in the evening and water gets on the side of the house that it can cause mold since the sun isnt out to dry the water up. Anyone else heard this?

I'm asking cause my mom has been sick for 3 months. They finally decided she has azmatic bronchitis. They think something is keeping her from getting better, they arnt sure what but they think it is some kind of allergey, they also said it could be mold, so she is getting someone to come by her house to check for mold. I told her about what I heard and it turns out she does use her sprinklers at night. It has to be something in her home causing it or something in the air, she went to China with my sister a month ago and she felt great there, but the minute she got back she got sick agian.

I'm not sure about the sprinkler thing. But I know that most houses have mold. She might want to check for black mold. That was a big thing around here once and people were getting sick. Hope your mom gets to feeling better.

mold is a health hazard. i went to visit my son and daughter-in-law. they had black mold growing up the walls and all around the window sills. the landlord was a slumlord. he refused to fix anything. he was almost rude to me and told me to mind my own business if i knew what was good for me. so i told him fine, he would NOT be seeing a dime of rent until he fixed the problem. we put their stuff in storage, cleaned the apartment and they came and stayed with us until they found another place. its amazing how fast my grandson got better. he was only a month old and constantly sick. we got a letter from the landlord saying he was suing them for 2500 in damages ! from his own mold problems ! i sent him back pictures i took on the day they moved out of the moldy walls and windows and copies of the babies medical records and told him we;ll see you in court. never heard from him again. your mother needs to get out of that place until its fixed before she suffers some serious health issues.

The house next door to us had black mold. It had to be completly redone. And when I say redone I mean gutted. The place looks new now. Insurance paid for all the work too.

Yep, mold can be deadly.  It is good that she is getting it checked.  I have heard not to use the sprinkler at night because of the lawn molding but not the house.....but, if the lawn can mold, i would think the house would to.

My daughter had the same problem. I had to get rid of my house plants because mold spours in the soil...and we couldn't have a live Christmas tree. The mold spours get released to the air when the tree warms up. We also had to get rid of all the wood in the house and the wood buring furnace. After that...all was better, but she still had to keep an inhaler with her all the time, incase she came into contact at friends houses. You can't get completely away from mold. It depends on what type of mold they are allergic to. There are many different mold spours out in the air at any given time.....expecially spring and fall.....
