nail advise?

I clipped Daisy's nail too short and it keeps on bleeding.  Anybody have any home remedies to get it to stop?

Now I'm not too sure on this one, but maybe flour would help. Just a guess. Get it packed in there. Hope it stops. I know what a gusher it can be.

All right Paige!  Flour is exactly what you use.

There's some stuff called "Cardinal" powder, it's a styptic powder that groomers use. You can get it at a pet supply or feed and grain store. It's not real expensive and a little bottle last forever. You can use it on any kind of minor type wounds that bleed.

Thanks O!!!!

I have heard that some of that powder really burns. Someone told me that from experiance after shaving. LOL!!! I guess they thought that if it worked on the dogs that it would work on her. I know she said that she would never use it on the dogs again because how bad it burned.

I use a yellow styptic powder on the puppies, when I remove their dewclaws, works great. You get it at the pet-store. It is made for that...I think it is called Stop Quik.

Just wanted to comment that flour did the trick. It bled throught once, but the second time, it worked.  Wow, never would have thought of that.  Thanks.
