Hello, and Welcome!! I just made a welcome thread for you too, lol. I love your dobe!! He is so gorgeous!! I used to have a dobe, his name was Eli, but we had to put him to sleep in March due to arthritis getting extremely bad. Here is his dogster link:http://www.dogster.com/?89049 Hope you enjoy the site!! Lots of great people on here and some good info and you can even goof off and post silly jokes and such.
Wellcome T.T.'s nice to have you here. I post over there too. Not a huge amount but I do. Beautiful dobe you have there. I've family in England myself.
Thanks for the bone!! lol. My hubby and I have been thinking of doing doberman rescue with the place that we got Eli from. We would like to do foster care this time, just so that we can help more dogs than just one. Have yet to fill out the application and such, but have been in contact with the director of the rescue for more than a year now, so she knows us pretty good. I hope to be doing rescue within the next month or so. I also have 2 other dogs and my parents' dog on dogster. Here are their links, Mollie and Chopper are mine and Sadie is my parents'. Mollie: http://www.dogster.com/?89043
Good to know you. Dobes are my favorite breed. I stick with Labs, because I am more familiar with them. My avatar is Kitiara, she is a pup that I bred. See my neglected web-site for more pics:http://www.solidimagelabs.com. In my amazing ignorance, I do not yet know how to change the pictures on the site, but I will soon fix them, with newer ones... Did that legislation about docking and cropping ears affect how you wanted your dog to look, or do they favor the down ears over there?
Kittys MOM~ docking tails in the u.k is illegal but it still goes on behind closed doors. As you can see by my dogster site Harvey is docked and alot of typical breeds who are usually docked still walk around with docked tails~ so unless you are caught doing it it still carries on. In Harveys case i wish that they left his on.. it was cut of with scissors when he was 3 months (before i rescued him) and it is bald at the end because there is way to much scar tissue for hair to come through..although a 2 or 3 single hairs are coming through ....and it was also docked to short and he cant tuck it under when he sits upright so it has contact with the floor and makes it really uncomfortable for him as i feel it puts pressure on his spine so i dont make him sit that often. Personally i am neither for or against docking of tails if it is done properly and with minimum pain and discomfort..
Ear cropping in Uk ~ This is also banned and it is extremely rare to ever see a dog with cropped ears so dobie owners have to have the ears natural even if they would like otherwise. Once again im neither for or against it if it is done properly and minimum pain and discomfort..
