We got permission from my MIL neighbors to get the cat that we have been trying to get. He is moving in July and so they talked about it and decided that they weren't going to take her with them anyway so they said we could have her!! We brought her home last night. We renamed her Cinder. She is having a VERY hard time adjusting to our house and the other cats. She has even gone after me if I smell like them. I put her in our laundry room and am going to just leave her be for a day or two and then try and let them all out together and see how they do. She is about 10 years old and very set in her ways. Hopefully she can adjust and get used to our house and the other cats. Once we finish the fence (Which has FINALLY been started!! whoo hooo) then we will let the cats be indoor/outdoor cats as they will not jump the fence. (I know, my cats are wierd) but they just will not jump over the fence and they are scared of being out at night and cannot stand it they will literally claw at the windows and doors if they are outside too long. hehe, I have such wierd cats! lol
I will post good pics of Cinder when she calms down and after she is cleaned up a bit. She has a brand new Neon Pink collar and a new tag with her name on it. She is a good cat and this is just a big change for her, I just hope she calms down quickly. Any ideas on how to make her more comfortable would be greatly appreciated. She has her own bed, food, water, and litter box. Plus the entire laundry room all to her self. She is not interested in coming out yet so I won't rush her.
That would be cool. We pretty much rescued her. It has taken well over a year to talk these people into letting us have her.
We took her to the vet and the had him look at her jaw (you may remember she has a badly broken jaw) But he said that since it healed that way and where it was broken at, she is in no pain and does not need any surgery or medications. Just a long over due and $200 teeth cleaning. More money then I was planning but well needed. So, we are going to wait a little bit and get her in to get her teeth cleaned. They are very bad. Especially with her jaw the way it is, she cannot chew right and so her teeth do not get cleaned naturally. This is going to be a VERY expensive little cat! lol but, oh well. She is worth it!
Ohhhh congrats Katz!!! I am so glad you got her. No suggestion of getiing her used to your home or other cats but hopefully she will adjust soon. Good luck and definately ask Ansy to put a pic up on the rescue page.
Cute! That was my cats name that I got when I was 8 yrs old. I came up with the name myself with a little help from my sister. She was all black. What colors is yours?
Cinder is black and white. She is sooooooo unhappy right now because I figured while she still hated everyone, now was the time to clean her up and give her a bath. She is now all clean and blow dried. She didn't mind the blow dryer at all. My cats are very used to it and I was suprised that she didn't freak out more. She really hated the brush though! lol Now she is all pretty and smells good and has a very cute collar on and no one can see her because she is hiding behind the washer! lol
