No, they adopted her out to us. I was frustrated that they wouldn't release her into rescue so she could be in a foster home while awaiting a forever home. But I'm so glad that we decided to adopt her!! She's such a doll, but I think she may just be a handfull. Ah, I can handle it!! lol
Thanks everyone!! She's our new baby, totally!! She loves to play, and when I play with her she'll jump up on me, she's only about 6" shorter than me when she jumps up!! She's so cool though!! I'm so happy to have her, even though Mollie has been very grumpy lately. Oh well, she'll just have to get over it won't she?? lol
She is a beauty!!!!!!!! And boy is she comfy in your house. Is there a thread on the meeting of your dogs with her? Mollie will get to like her, give it time.
Well, Puttin, we went to the HS on Saturday, right before our housewarming party and met her. She was very sweet and we decided that it'd be best to bring Mollie and Chopper over on Sunday to meet her and see how that goes. So they said that we should call before we come to see if she's been adopted already. I wanted to go right away when they opened up, so I called 15 min before they closed that nite. They still had her, so I told Brad that we'd go up the next day right when they opened to see how things would go.
So we took Mollie and Chopper over the next morning and Lexie and Chopper got along great, but Mollie just kind of stayed behind me the whole time. It was hot and Lex and Chop were playing hard, running around the kennel run and Mollie was getting tripped-over and all, so she stayed by me and Brad the whole time.
So we decided we'd take her and they said that she still needed to get her staples out from her spay, last Monday, so we opted for them to keep her overnite and have that done and get her on Monday. One of the volunteers lives in the same town as us so she delivered her on Monday nite at 5:30.
I don't know if Mollie will ever get to really like Lexie. She never really got to "like" Eli, just tolerated him and growled at him whenever he came near me or her. She does the same with Lexie, but we'll see, I guess. We had Eli for 9 months, so I don't know how she'll do with this one.
Awww mollie she's so adorable! i'm glad that you got her...what a sweetheart. and she certainly seems to have made herself at home quickly. congrats to you guys!
Yeah, you knew how much I loved red Dobes, and got her just to dangle in my face that you have one now, and I don't... Huh. Ya better keep her,'cause I can't have more dogs, and I have relatives that drive cross country...
Well I would not rule out Mollie ever liking her. My poo Sasha never wants anything laying near her. But she will play with her on occasion, and she plays much gentler than the way she would with rufus. She demands her respect when she's laying down. LOL But don't give up on hoping.
