Well all I have finally made my decision. Much as I love him I am going to have to rehome Dillon. He is the one in my avitar. I rescued him several months ago and I had decided to keep him. He is a sweet dog but he is just to bouncy and I have two tiny children. My heart is breaking but hubby says he has to go and I tend to agree. Only because he spends too much time crated. He is doing so well with his training and he is soooo smart but with the babies and financially right now I think he would have a better life elsewhere. He is allergic to most of the flea preventatives so keeping him flea free is hard. I just feel I would be giving him a better life if I placed him in a new home. He is rehabilitated now and does pretty good with most dogs except larger males. I can have him out with all my dogs except my male pit and my male dobe.
If anyone is interested in Dillon please let me know. He will be neuterd before he goes to a home thats for sure and will be current on his shots. He goes for his rabies next week. He loves to jump and run but not a big digger. His favorite toy is the kong filled with cookies and peanut butter. He has to have things to chew on or he will find things to chew on and he is crate trained and will bark if he has to get out to go potty. He has not quite mastered barking to go out when running loose so we confine him to the kitchen which has tile floors lol. He gives paw, speaks for his dinner and wil roll over and crawl. He loves attention and intyeraction so much that the down stay command is something he is struggling with but he is doing better.
He is really special to me guys so any help in finding him a good forever home would be appreciated. Little pepper has already found a great home and she just got spayed. But Dillon needs some help.

Thats too bad. You need to make sure though he doesn't accidently knock down one of your kids. Pits have a rough way of playing. I just saw the other day somewhere about sonic flea deterant things. They are these little boxes attached to the collar. My very first job was working for a place that put together ultra sonic machines intended to drive bugs and small rodents from the home. Maybe check something like that out. I can't remember where I saw it.
Oh, Pits!! I would love to take Dillon for you, if I hadn't just gotten Lexie!! Why not try and find a good Am. Bulldog rescue (he's an ab isn't he??)?? I'm so sorry you have had to come to this conclusion, but it's probably for the best. I'm sure you'll find him a great home and wonderful family to live out the rest of his years in. Good luck!!
You know i'm big on AB's but I don't have room for anymore dogs. If I had one space i'd gladly take him since I have mostly females, but unfortunaly I can't
it is a hard decision to finally say the words outloud that you have to find them another home...i have a simular sittuation here...excet i paid a bundle for the dog i will have to give away...i will only give her to a legitamate rescue..but when i finally siad the words outloud after i had decided but never said it...it really hurt me...we all know we have to do what is best for the dogs...and being crated a lot is no way to live..my dog is dog submissive...and i want her to go to a only dog home...good luck with your delema
Im very sorry you are having to make such a hard decision only you know whats best for him. he is a handsome boy so im sure he will get a loving home quickly!

I'm sorry as well. I know what it is like to have to re-home a pet, it is very difficult. But you have your kids in mind, so just know that because of your kids, that it is the right thing. I'm sure he will find a wonderful home, just as mine did..

Yesterday, I played with a huge dog named Maverick, They say he is boxer- Sharpei, but I first saw him I thought he was pit. He very well could be or have bulldog in him, A monster of a boy.
I went in and played with him and barely could stand his jumps and pawing unless I was bracing myself. There is no way a small child could not get hurt by a dog like that. All in all he was just playing, I nearly got pushed into his water bowl too. LOL He was one big love of a dog, but not for the little kids. I totally understand.
