With in the next month we are moving to Illinois. Not sure on a exact date yet but we have made it offical. Some of you have prolly heard me say that we have been thinking about it and today me and hubby had a long talk and decided to do it. The thing that sucks the most is my step sons, they will be staying here with their mother.
Our main reason for wanting to get out away from here is my mother. I will not get into detail but we do not get along at all. So we figured the further away we get from her the better. I will be leaving everyone and everything I know here. Hubby has family there but I have never met anyone. Only family that I have met up there is my brother and sister in law who just moved up there a few months ago. I've moved out of state before but it was only to GA and I came home everyweek end to see my family and friends so it really wasn't like I was that far away. This time is going to be different. It's going to be really hard on me at first but I will have my hubby and sister in law who I get along with very well, we call eachother "the sister I never had". Only Storm and Winter will be going the other 3 will be going back to my mother as they are her dogs, I just keep them, feed them, the whole 9 yards.
My mother has not been informed of this yet, boy will that be fun!
But, I will everyone know when i'm leaving and possibly when I'll be back online.
Anyone here from southern Illinois? That is where I will be moving to can't rememeber the town's name! LOL We will be moving to Morrisonville it's right outside Decatur.
I wish you the best on your move! At least with the internet you will be able to stay in touch with everyone. It is hard to move away from what you are familiar with but sometimes it is for the best. You & your hubby need to do what is right for you.
i dont know a thing about illinois.so i cant help you there.but at least you are not going alone. and if you get there and decide its not for you .you can always go home. i was born in los angeles, california. but my parents moved here to washington state when i was small.and i have lived here my entire life. i went to glendale, california to visit my uncle and aunt and spent a few weeks with them and was never so glad to get home in my entire life. i think the majority of the drivers there should be required to have a pilot liscense also.and it was so crowded everywhere and hot. i guess i have just gotten used to this little quiet town in the country.i dont think i could leave here. but some people are more on the adventurous side and do fine. i wish you a safe trip and hope you are happy there.
I was born in Maine but we moved to Tampa Fl when I was 6 so I have pretty much grew up here. I don't know what I will do out in the sticks lol. I'm used to city life and so is hubby. I like the country but not living there so we will see how it goes. If we like it there just not where we are living we can always move into a bigger city up there, but as far as moving back to Tampa is concerned thats outta the question maybe somewhere else in Fl but not here.
Good luck with your move! I've always lived in the same general area. Can't get me out of the south. Someone would have to throw my dead body in the trunk and drive it away to make me move so far from my children.
Good luck. My hubby and i moved here to Arizona from Colorado and we didn't know anyone in Arizona. We left both of our families and are closer to family now that we are 1000 miles away.......lol
My sister lives in Naperville, Il. But i don't know exactly what area that is. I know it is about an hour from Chicago.
wooo hooo ILLINOIS! That is where i am from...well before the army moved us here. I am from northern Illinois..literally 5 minutes from wisconsin. I hope you like it there! I sure miss my family but i do not miss the humidity in the summer and icy winters! I will be moving back there in about a year and 3 months when i husband is out of the army.
Buy a warm coat, lol. Im from northern illinois, though. Southern is a bit warmer, a bit milder weather and nice open farmtown. You'll probably like it a lot. Good luck.
Congrats, Stormy!! Now you join jessica, me, Ansy, Sandy, and a couple others that I can't think of, in the moving club!! We've all moved since we've been members here!! Yayy!!
