Well Tuff arived home safely yesterday about 4PM. Ivan barked and he fainted...lol It took us a minute to realize that he actually did faint!! We were like "wow, that was easy"...lol
He really is the toughest little goat I've ever seen. He's a little bad arse, to say the least. Now Hector is trying to act like some big mountain goat raring up on his hind legs and 'butting' Tuff (they're playing, and its so funny).
Tuff is 4 months old and is already the size of our full grown Hector, so it will be interesting to see how big Tuff gets. He is currently about 45 lbs, and we expect he will be 100-150 lbs when grown.
In order to register Tuff, we have to have a Herd name. It is required by the IFGA (International Fainting Goat Association). We are at a complete loss for this one...lol
I have seen Herd names of all kinds, such as Four Oaks Farms, Onion Creek Ranch and Freaks on the Creek. The Herd name is used as a Prefix to the name you register your goats with. For example, if Onion Creek Ranch had bought a goat and named it Tuff, it would be registered as Onion Creek Ranch's Tuff or OCR's Tuff.
For starters, we don't have a ranch here...lol (wish we did), and we really don't even have a farm (maybe someday we'll get to that point).
JT suggested Ivan's Army......yeah, I looked at him like he was crazy...lol ( I really hope he was joking).
I love the name Sleepy Hollow Farms but I don't want to advertise myself as something I'm not (we are not a farming operation). I'm all into the whole Halloween thing (why do you think I buy my dog food at Phantom Foods...lol) and would like something along those lines.....maybe. I could go for something funny too.
Have any of you had to come up with a Herd name for anything? Or a name for your farm or operation? I honestly feel stupid naming my great big operation of 2 male goats...lol. Someday we'll have many more and be breeding, but I have to choose the name now.
You don't have to actually be a farm. You are on acrage so it is kinda a farm and and you are basically a new farm. So you should qualify as one. Call it Barnabbus farms......lol
I have a kennel name, protected by AKC. It is Solid Image. My critter's names all start with Solid Image. Solid Image Tanya Rose, Solid Image Megan's Calypso, Solid Image Kitiara...etc.
