Waiting again!

Dealing with repair/service companies is sooooo frustrating.  My central a/c hasn't been working so a week ago Mon. I called the company that installed it & my furnace (it is beyond the warranty period).  They set me up with an appt. for last Tues - to call me at work 1/2 hr before they were going to be here.  Well by 2:00 I hadn't heard from them so I called & was told I was still on the schedule for that day as long as the prior jobs weren't problem ones that took longer than planned.  OK, I understood that with no problem.  To be on the safe side we set up a back-up appt if Tues didn't work out for last Fri.  Same scenario - no call from them & all I ever got when I called was their answering machine and they never returned my call.

So comes Mon. AM, I call & get some jerk on the phone who says "Hold on, let me check on it".  Well he messed up & didn't put me on hold so I could hear his conversations with others (none of which had anything to do with my call) and guys being guys the language I was hearing left alot to be desired.  To add insult to injury after being left hanging for 6 minutes the call got disconnected.

It took me a few more calls to get another live person (a different one) who was very apologetic about the missed appts., the language & being left on hold.  Rescheduled my appt for this morning between 9 & 10.  By 10:30 no call, no show.  I placed a call and got someone else.  Again apologies with a promise to check into it and call me back w/i 15 minutes.  Trying to not lose it I waited 1 hr 15 mins before I called again as noone had gotten back to me.  Now they tell me 1/2 the crew is on an emergency job and one of the techs has me scheduled and should be here shortly.  So here I sit waiting.  I've now missed 1/2 day of work.  The weather is supposed to be turning hot & humid again so I really want it fixed.  I'm hesitant to call another company that I haven't dealt with because I am sure they are booked solid.

Whatever happened to servicing customers in a timely, courteous manner.  Yes, things sometimes happen beyond their control - that I thoroughly understand.  But there is no way I buy the fact that Fri & today were both affected by emergency calls that resulted in my non-service.  You can bet your bottom dollar if they show I will be demanding a discount on the bill for all the aggravation this has been.

I try to be nice, patient & understanding but I'm afraid I am beyond that now.  Being a customer service manager for years I know what it is like being on the receiving end of a disgrunted customer.  I won't take it out on whatever tech shows up but I will surely being writing a not so nice letter to the owner of the company to express my displeasure.

Sorry this is sooo long-winded but I just needed to vent!  Sorry you guys were on the receiving end!

I am with Kitty on this one!

Use your womanly powers to get that discount. Generally, men don't like dealing with a pyscho angry woman! Let em' have it! lol

Well, that is your call, but if it was me I would have the attitude from he!!  That kind of crap makes me mad too. I am a patient person and can except and emergency, but not being blown off and ignored.

I had a recent encounter with Stanely Steemer, was going to pay to have my carpets done before the grad party. They gave me such a run around and changed the prices from what the commercial said I told them to forget aobut it....I just got a letter from them yesterday saying "Sorry we couldn't work this out. Here is 40.00 off for the next time!" That made me laugh! lol

What a pain! Yes, after a letter to the president of the company from a very disappointed customer, you might just get a discount that will cover the hours of your time that they have wasted.

i know it is totally annoying having to wait on people and then they dont call or show.hopefully they show up this time ! my daughters heat got shot off and she called me at work, crying. i went straight to the gas company from work to pay it before 3:00 so they could get it back on the same day. it was cold and my grandsons were small. they said they had workers out until 9:00 and it would be back on before then. next day still no heat. and i had to pay an extra 20.00 to get it back on the same day ! 8:00 the next night i called them again.their excuse was that they couldnt find the house ! ggrrrrr . by then i was really po'd . i yelled at him that  they darn sure didnt have any trouble finding it to turn it off !! he hung up on me,but was there about 20 minutes later. lol   Screamer
