We went to the lake today and took the dogs and to my surprise, my dogs took to the water like two ducks! I had never taken them before! They jumped in and swam, even little sheppy with his short little legs! It was so cool. We jetskiied and boated and the kids parasailed. But I just couldn't get over the dogs. First daisy took the plunge and sheppy followed. After that, he just ran along the edges looking for frogs to dive on. It was so much fun and such a nice day. They are both collasped. Just thought I'd share.
i havent takin mine around any water besides the bathtub. i have been told by the members in my frenchie forum that they can NOT swim. they are a head breed and top heavy and told they sink like rocks. lol . some breeds are excellent swimmers and love the water.it sounds like yours had a blast. my gsd whines like a baby if we try to get him wet. lol
I don't know either, but probably. Last summer, at my sisters, I thought, lets see what sasha does when I hold her above water, she was a good two feet above, and there she went, paddling like crazy, everyone got a good laugh out of that. I sure did. Smart girl.
Sounds like you had such a great day. I love doing simple all-day stuff like going to the lake. Manson swims but he would prefer not to. I haven't tested Bosco out yet but he does love to run around in the creek in the backyard. That doesn't mean anything because the creek is only as high as his elbows.
During the summer we will take Storm and Winter to the beach, we aren't much on the beach but the dogs love it. Storm tries her hardest to catch the fish and crabs. Winter just wads, she's so fat i'm affarid she'd just sink!
