Below is a picture of one of the cockapoos we're thinking of getting. Our only real hesitation is him being mainly white....how do you keep a white dog clean? Especially the face? Kula's little white beard has gotten dark because it's always in his food bowl, even though I wash his face after every meal. Will this little guy always look dirty or is there a way to keep his face and the rest of his coat nice and white?
I have to say, you will only have problems if it likes to dig or roll in dirt. Regular brushing gets the surface dirt of soooooooo easily. With dogs that have longer hair around the muzzles, generally their saliva almost always turns the hair brownish right there. My poos would have the redish brown color if I did not shave their muzzles. But if they get a little dirty on their coat brushing gets it right out. If its deep down, like they have been rolling and digging, then a bath would be needed. There was a man down the block that had an eskie white as snow.Alls he did was brush most of the time. He was always very white. My rufus has a very white ring around his neck and he gets a bath once a month. Its always very white. So just cause its mostly white does not mean its going to be a problem. The muzzle and saliva thing though you may not be able to avoid.
My uncle had a white toy poodle and she always had problems with her face being dirty from the food bowl he used infant babywipes and wiped her face with them after she would get done eating. HA! she was a spolitle lil witch anyhow!

I have 2 white dogs, both I use whiteing shampoo on. Winter doesn't really get the "sleep" in her eyes unlike Storm. I use baby wipes on Storm to get the "sleep" off.
I swear white dogs know they are "different" LOL Every white dog I have ever seen loves the dirt and mudd! Storm and Winter have a totall hissy fit if I don't let them out when it's raining, they love to play in the rain and mudd!
mine do the SAME thing white or not! UGH I hate that! Freshly bathed and smelling pretty and what do they do???? It lasts all of three minutes because after a bath they have to pee for some reason so even if I leash walk them they have an incessent urge to roll in the darn dirt! I don't even get a few min to savor the sweet smelling dogs before they go and ruin it! PLUS they shed alot after a bath no matter how much I brush them seems it lasts about a day. So if I dont let them out they roll all over the floor leaving their hair on the carpet! UGH dog bath day is hell!
