I'm going to Vegas in the begining of August. I already have a reservation for the 3 dogs to be boarded. I totally forgot about the cats!!!! We got four of them and I'm not sure what to do. I could board them but that will get expensive since im already boarding the dogs, and then boarding 4 cats would be really expensive. I'm only going to be gone 2 days and 2 nights. Would the cats be ok if left by themselves? I have one of those free feeders and i have one for water too. We also have 2 litterboxes. You think that would be ok?
I could try and get a friend to comeover and check on them, i just hope i have a friend that can do that.
the great thing about cats is that you can leave them for a weekend. If I leave for more than 2 days, I have a neighbor stop by, but she can fend for herself for 2 days. I have found that leaveing a few bowls of ice is great because she'll get cold water all weekend. With 4, i would put out at least 2 clean litter boxes, enough food for 2 days and 4 bowls of water (2 water and 2 ice)
They'll be fine. It would probably be worse for them to go to the kennel for 2 days. More stressful i would think.
They should be fine at home with plenty of food & water. Over the years I have done that many times. In fact if we were going away for a week or two I would just have a neighbor stop in every 3-4 days to refill the food & water and freshen up the litter box.
I'm leaving mine for 6 days. I will have a neighbor coming to feed the animals but for the cats, i just filled a big dish with food and another with water. The do fine when we leave.
