Since I've been "lurking" for quite awhile now, I thought it was about time to say howdy-do.
I really like this forum, with all its emoticons and graphics, etc., and most of the posts are real interesting, especially the ones like the fainting goat! LOL! I also like the idea that the posts don't HAVE to be pet-related.
My name actually stands for...now, don't laugh...GARTH BROOKS ROCKS ON! Even though he's an old (as am I), retired, soon-to-be-married man again! I fell in love with him a number of years ago, lol, and he's still my fave country singer.
I used to like him, but he's so cocky, I think. I still like his music, but I prefer the old-style, honkytonk of George Strait. He's my one and only!! And I also love Brad Paisley, but George is definitely my #1!! I used to have 2 guinea pigs- George and Garth. George was the quiet one and Garth was the outgoing one that bit and peed on me!! LOL. George was mine and Garth was Brads. They were so cute and then we gave them to a nice, elderly couple, who later found out that they were both females and had George bred and he/she died during birth and 2 of the 4 babies died. They still have Garth though. They renamed them "gee" and "whiz". Whiz was George and Gee is Garth. It was nice to get to see Garth again!! He/she is being well taken care of though!!
I just have to tell this story, even though it certainly doesn't make me look good:
Since I'm soooo in love with Garth Brooks, a number of years ago, I (and a couple of cohorts who know about my Garth infatuation) got another co-worker to believe that I actually knew Garth Brooks (this was actually a spur-of-the-moment thing, and wasn't a big ol' scheme--at least at first). We got her to believe that I talked on the phone with him, visited him and his family on vacation, went horseback riding with him, etc. The co-worker (who was also a fan of country music) would approach me asking for news of Garth and his family, and I (or my cohorts) would make up some personal story about him, adding funny little twists to make it believable. Anyways, this "rumor" got all around a 300-person office, and it wasn't long before I was approached by one of the partners of the law firm I work for. She was itching to get into entertainment law and wanted me to introduce her to Garth. MAN!! Was my face red or what!! I had to admit that I didn't actually know Garth, and that we were just spoofing. I got a MAJOR comeuppance! The co-worker (who no longer works there--not because of this, though) was soooo embarrassed that it was all and only a big prank, and I felt really bad about it and apologized profusely to her. I definitely learned my lesson, although it was fun pretending to know him, 'cause I'd just about die to meet him for real. I know I was a meanie, and there's no real excuse for the whole deal, but I got so caught up in the fantasy of really knowing Garth, that I just couldn't help myself!
BAD ME! NAUGHTY ME! Hope y'all have mercy on me for bearing my soul like this!
I have actually met Garth Brooks and even eat dinner at his house! My father used to build houses all over and he just happened to build his. He gave me tickets to one of his concerts here in Tampa and gave me backstage passes. Now i'm not a huge country fan actually i'm not a fan at all but there's just something about Garth Brooks!
