Well, after a week with the fam. in kansas and three days of fending off CRAZY drivers from Kansas to Maryland, we have arrived. We're still functioning out of a hotel, going this weekend to check out some apartments. both dogs did well on the drive. It was being at the hotels that were/are rough, Tiki has gone back to having trouble sleeping all night. hopefully it'll get better when we're in a home. anywho the hotel we're at i can only get on when there's a miracle and my wirelessw actually connects, so i'll be pretty intermittent.
well glad to hear that you all arrived safely. hopefully you will be able to find your own place before too long.then things can get back to normal for you and your pets. give them babies a big hug, especially that little frenchie ! lol
I've been real pleased with our dogs, Tiki doesn't whine as much, course she hasn't really been getting kenneled as much either because she seems to be mostly potty-trained. She just jumps on the bed to wake me up in the morning when she needs to go out. We tried to get an apartment yesterday but because I dont have a job here yet and my hubby's credit appears bad (but really isn't because everything has been paid off, it just hasn't come off the statements yet AND they're all from like 5 years ago) we weren't able to get an apartment. I dont see it being possible at all for us to get an apartment, at least right now. Add that to the wonderful stress bubble of hubby's pay being suspended right now because of some changes we made to his direct deposit. He'll have to go on post asap to get everything straightened out as far as that goes. Hopefully military housing will have something available otherwise I have no clue what we're going to do.
keep your chin up ! things always have a way of working out. you guys will find a place and get back to normal and you can look back and remember these times and be able to smile about it.
Have y'all looked at any rent homes. I know here renting a house is way cheaper than a apartment. The first house we were renting was 495 a month for a two bedroom 1 bath and we had a huge yard. But to get a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment here would have been 650. Good luck with the search.
mostly the only "houses" that are available around here are town homes and they're about 1500 for a two bedroom. Can't afford that on a military salary AND pay all the bills :( :( We're moving into base housing tomorrow, so hopefully here shortly i'll be able to get on a little more frequently and post.
