Advice needed~ male dogs .. Q~ sexual maturity issues?

I will try and put this in the politest way possible lol

Harvey My Dobie is a 1yr old + not for breeding. He 's not been altered with advice from our dog behaviourist we should not get him done as it could have a sinking effect on his personality since he was a rescue an had severe depression~ This was when he was 8/9 months old and seems to be doing great know.. the depression is no longer there an he seems to be acting 'normal' like a typical dog...

I know you have to live with seeing a dogs willy as they dont wear clothes like you and i and i wouldn't like to put any off those doggy pants on him as he will look pretty silly and Michael wouldnt go for it~ lol ..

??~But is he at the age where he is reaching sexual maturity and for want off a better word feeling pretty Horny as his willy seem to always come out at every oppurtunity when we stroke him, play etc.. he has never humped us but he does hump other dogs ~  i know that is a sign of dominance over the other dogs ~ but we are fine with him being the dominant one as they have to establish pack order... and it is not a problem with there owners .. will altering make him less horny?

I really want to get him altered as  think he is starting to get sexually frustrated ( if thats even POssible~ but he does def seem frustrated) and also because of the health benefits .. just gotta convince my partener

I have always felt it is much better for dogs for their health as well as reducing their frustration to have them neutered as well as reduce some potential behavioral issues.  To answer your question somewhat, neutering will not completely eliminate the sight - it will still occasionally peek out.  Farley is 6 yo & was neutered at 6 mo and we still occasionally get the "view".

That's silly, leave his nardos alone. He won't be frustrated as long as the females in your house are not in season. His dingy will act the same no matter what you do to his nards.
I have a female dog that humps all the other dogs regardless of what sex they are. While I consider her obnoxious, I would not call her horny unless she were in season. I think she would be rather shocked if said humpees were to hump her back. She needs a taste of her own medicene. I know she would come running to me with her mommie save me face.

Hee-hee. My mom and I have all manner of words for those. My favorite is the pup's "ying yang" now there is a balanced description of that piece of a dog...
You should see what stud owners go though with that part of their dog. Tell you, it shocked me...same with horses. That is one of the worst parts about washing your horse
