It depends on how serious you are with your significant other .. young kids and teenagers usually say boyfriend and couples who dont live together.. i say partener (but he is not my husband YET!! lol) but its because we live as husband and wife .. if they are already your husband.. people use husband and/or partener (whatever they prefer).
I'm not gay though lol although there could have been a mix up when i accidently used a u.s.a symbol for gay pride as an avatar.. i didnt know it was ~ i just used it cus i though it was pretty lol
