So, I was cleaning the other day (mind you, I'm not a very good housekeeper, lol) and I swept the floors and cleaned all the dog hair off the steps (all hardwood everywhere) and Wednesday I woke up to make Brad's breakfast at 4am and I was sneezing and just couldn't stop for like 5 minutes. I felt ok for the rest of the day, so I just thought I may have kicked something up that I'm allergic to- I've got A LOT of allergies.
Then yesterday I woke up again to make Brad's breakfast and it was the same thing, only this time, it didn't go away ALL DAY. So I still went to work last nite and I had to blow my nose like every 10 minutes and wash my hands afterward, so it took me awhile to do all those haircuts!! I even had to get up 3 times during a pedicure!! I just felt like cr*p!!
So today, I'm supposed to work at the nursing home at 1:00, but I called in- I'm running a freakin fever of 99.8!! UGH!! I HATE calling in!! Absolutely HATE IT!! They're short staffed at the nursing home 1/2 the time anyway, so I always feel sooo bad for doing it even though I really am sick. I just don't think it would be good for me to serve food when I'm running a fever and coughing and sneezing and blowing my nose all day. I REALLY feel like sh*t today and I called my mommy (I'm a big baby when I'm sick and always call her) and she told me to call the doctor, who is 20 min. away and have him prescribe something for me. So I did, and they said that he'd either call me back or just prescribe some Zithromax for me. I hate calling the freakin doctors!!
This is the 2nd time I've been sick since we moved in here!! Even though I have allergies and asthma, I was never sick like this when we were in the old house. I just hope to God I don't have to call in to BOTH jobs tomorrow!! I'm supposed to work at the salon from 8-12, then work at the nursing home from 1-7:30. THIS SUCKS!!! Sorry, I just felt the need to rant to everyone, lol. I was sick a whole lot when I was little, and even up through middle school, but since high school, I haven't gotten sick nearly as often. THIS FREAKIN SUCKS!!
OK, now that that's out of my system, what's everyone doing today?? I think I'm gonna go downstairs now and watch Pirates of the Caribbean, maybe. Gotta love those two hotties in that movie!! YUMMY!!
Mollie, I'm sorry to hear you're sick. I hope you have fun watching Pirates of the Caribbean. Gotta love those hotties! I'm going to see one of those hotties today also. My husband and I and our girls are going to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory along with a friend of ours and her 4 kids. Should be fun. Two of the kids are under 2 and one is 3. After the the baby wakes up from our nap I'm going to take them to Color me Mine to make some things. Do you have those there? They are lots of fun. I go by myself to make things sometimes.

Did you have the house you're living in checked for mold? It's my understanding that if there's mold present in a house, people feel cold/flu/allergy type symptoms all the time.
Thanks, everyone. Well, I did call in, and they were very understanding, but I just hope that I can still work in the am at the salon. As of yesterday, I only had 3 clients booked for 4 hours, so still a lot of space and not much of a prob calling only 3 people but still. My fever rose another whole degree, now to 100.8!! I REALLY feel like sh*t!! I decided not to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, instead I decided to watch Star Wars, Episode IV, A New Hope.
PitPat- no we didn't have the house checked for mold, but I know the house we lived in before had mold in the bathroom and it never bothered me, even though I'm allergic to mold also.
I feel soooo bad that I didn't go to the vet's office yesterday to get dog food!! I meant to ask Brad to do it when he got home, since he's got more money than me, but I forgot!! They haven't eaten since yesterday morning/afternoon!! So I'm sending my daddy out to get it, but they're closed over noon hour, so he's got to wait another 1/2 hour to get it. I'm such a bad mommy!! I just want my mommy to come over and rub my back, as it's killing me from laying down too long. I HATE BEING SICK!!!
I'm so sorry Mollie. I have a weakened immune system so I totally feel your pain. Being sick stinks. I get sick at the drop of a hat. Buy a pinapple. I know it sounds weird, but there is an enzyme in pinapples that, like vitamin C, really help when you are sick. Also eat yogart, as the live cultures in yogart help fend of bacteria.

hope you are feeling better soon. i have severe allergies too. and compile that on top of being sick and i feel dead to the world. so i feel ya !! get well soon.
What Hunter said, for sure. Also, get Nasel Crom [sodium cromylin] it relieves all respiratory symptoms before they get severe. Get some now and use it. It is different from the other cold/allergy products. No side effects, no rebound effect. There is nothing like it...
Oh oh oh! Also, "Cold Ease". It's a zinc lousenge, (kind of like the kind you suck on when you have a sore throat) that you take every few hours right when you start to feel like you might be getting a cold. It lessens the severity and duration of the cold/flu.

Thanks for all the help guys!! I did end up calling in yesterday for today, so I'll be home all day instead of working. I was still running a fever at 4pm yesterday and the salon closed at 5 so I figured I better call before this am. My fever broke sometime during the night, as when I got up at 7, my temp was only 98 degrees. So I guess that's good. There are a lot of cold/flu meds that I can't take because the package says not to take them when you have asthma. Right now I'm really feeling it in my right lung, it hurts like h*ll to breathe very deep. I can only pretty much take my Zithromax, which is what I called the doctor for yesterday, and my inhaler. UGH!! But maybe I'll try the pineapple and the yogurt. Have to have hubby go to the store, big whoopie, we live right across the street, practically. lol. Thanks again, everyone!!
