Did anyone see this yesterday? I saw it. I LOVED it. I thought it was so good. The other 2 adults who went with me hated it. I was curious of everyone else's opinions. Am I the only one who thought it was wonderful? Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor but this movie just proves that he can do anything.

i havent seen it yet. i do love johhny depp though. my daughter said she was going to see it. i will ask her when she comes home if she liked it or not. she also loves everything johnny depp is in. i have to be in the mood to sit through a movie. we have finding neverland and i have yet to watch it.lol
Oh Zoe, don't tell me about it!!! We were going to go see it this weekend but can't since I'm sick, So we'll prolly end up seeing it next weekend. I'm sure I'll love it though, since it has Johnny Depp in it and since I adored the original one. I heard this morning, on the Early Show, that Gene Wilder isn't thrilled about the remake and says it's not necessary, it's just something for the movie industry to generate more money. How rude!! He's just jealous because he never was and never will be even 1/2 as hot as Johnny!! I can't wait to see it though.
Dusty- you should watch Finding Neverland, it's a great movie!! I just love the story and it's very imaginative with everything. I thought it was an awesome movie and I'm glad that Johnny Depp was in the leading role!!
I have not seen it, but am not especially thrilled with the fact that it was redone. I think I agree with Gene Wilder. The original is actually my favorite movie ever. And the best thing about the movie, IMO, was Wilder's excellent portrayal of Willy Wonka. He was able to be both kind and mysterious and even scary! I find Johnny Depp to be yummy in Pirates of the Carribbean, but he looks like a homosexual in the wonka movie.
Finding Neverland was a great movie ..it made me get all weepy at the end though .. Charlie and the Chocolate factorys not been released here yet but i can twait ..johny depps great ..i absolutely love edward scissorhands aswell and sleepy hollow .. wasnt to keen on the pirates of the carribean though
the legend of sleepy was one of my favorite movies. another one that i like although its not a depp movie is van helsing. i thought the graphics in that movie were awesome.
Shiny, I thought Johnny Depp walked, talked, and looked like a homosexual in Pirates of the Caribbean!! I agree though in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he also looks like a homo, but still. I have to go see it.
I thought Van Helsing was the dumbest vampire movie ever. I thought the graphics were terrible and the acting was very poor. I actually fell asleep thru it in the theater and I've never done that, not even with Vanilla Sky, which was another horribly bad movie. Sorry Dusty, but I definitely have to disagree with you, no offense. I just thought it was the poorest excuse for a vampire movie I've ever seen and I'm totally fascinated by vampire movies.
none takin. i know everyone likes different things.i usually dont watch those types of movies unless quinn wants me to sit through them with him. i am more into movies like, dances with wolves, last of the mohicans, legends of the fall, fried green tomatoes, etc. now i have been sucked into the 6 week miniseries, into the west. those are the ones that hold my attention all the way through. i think the dumbest movie i have ever seen was big fish. but i,m sure there are some that loved it. to each his own.
I thought Gene Wilder was SUPERB in the original. It is one of our favorite movies. I simply cannot think of another actor who could have handled that role as well as he did. He, and the movie, are truly classics.
Now, on to the new version......
I get giddy at the thought of Johnny Depp. I found him ever-so-hot in Pirates of the Carribbean.....oh dear was he HOTTTTTTT in that movie. I'm anxious to see CATCF simply because I love the original, however, I have been let down many times when I see remakes. I love Jim Carey, but was really disappointed in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I love the cartoon version, but didn't see the need of going back and showing how the Grinch became the Grinch in the movie. It was OK, but could have been much better.
I am a fan of the older shows and also can't wait to see BeWitched.....but the movie we are holding out for is the Dukes of Hazzard. I have watched every episode a million times. I just love it, but think I'll be let down by Jessica Simpsons portrayal of Daisy. I'll just have to wait and see.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is my all time favorite show/cartoon (thus the name of our goat farm someday - Sleepy Hollow Farm). I haven't watched the movie version because I don't watch or allow scary movies in my house. A dark side of me really wants to see it though, just because Depp plays in it.
I will watch semi-scarey movies.....just watched The Others a few weeks back and loved it. I just don't allow movies like the Exorcist, Salems Lot, Phantasm, They Amityville (sp) Horror (all of which I seen as a young child) in my home. HUbby loves scarey movies, so we have issues on this sometimes...lol. I am absolutely terrified of Michael Myers and will not even look at the Horror movie section in a video store because I don't want to see his face on the cover of a movie case...lol.
Anyway, yes, I am axnious to see the new CATCF and hope it is just as good as the first, just more updated. My dad always called me (and still does...lol) Veruca Salt......lol....because I want everything NOW!.....lol
