How do you clean your face?

I am in a predicament.  I never realized how much so until I was almost late for my 9:00 appt. with that horrible dentist.  Here's the deal it takes me a long time to get out of my room in the mornings and to get ready for bed at night.  I worry about 3 things all day long, constantly.  Are my dogs eating nutritiously enough?  Are my kids eating nutritiously enough? And is my face clean?  I get myself into a panic over my face.  I always had decent skin, I thought.  I did get the teenage break-out but it was only the really lucky ones who didn't, right?  Well when I turned 19 after I was married I started seeing a dermatologist.  I live in PA and I travel to D.C. to a dermatologist.  I do this at least once a month.  It's not as horrible as it sounds.  It's a 3 hour drive but my in-laws live in D.C.  I have a facial everytime I go and I get my skin analyzed.  Not just my facial skin but moles and things also to make sure they're not cancerous.  I have a history of melanoma in my family.  At this particular office I go to they have this machine.  I forget what its called but it analyzes your face and tells you how old your skin is on your face.  When I was 19 my skin was 24.  Now I'm 26 and my skin is still 24.  You can reverse the outward appearance of your face but your skin is still irreparable.  So even though I haven't repaired my skin it isn't aging anymore which is good.  Every night before bed I cleanse, masque, tone, moisturize, and do wrinkle cream.  Every morning I cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturize, and wrinkle cream.  God forbid I get a wrinkle.  My cleansing products probably cost upward of 500 dollars total.  Its what he tells me to use so I do it.  It's worked for all of these years.  The problem is it's taking up so much of my time.  I'm probably in the bathroom a half an hour every morning and at least an hour at night.  Here's my question.  What do you all use, brand included, and does it really work?  Do you think I can do the same things you all do, provided you don't do the same things I do, and get the same results?  My doctor is a wonderful doctor, the best in my opinion.  He has written many books and invented many products.  He does surgeries also but I have never, and will never do any of that.  I'm going to grow old but I'm not going down without a fight.

I hate to admit this but I only get like one zit a year. I have been blessed with great skin. But I exfoliate(sp) like twice a week and every night I just take off my makeup with a very mild soap and water. I also use a facial lotion everyday. Pretty simple when it comes to my face. My only problem I sometimes get is dark undereye circles.

Thanks Paige, I have good skin also.  I just have a fear of getting a zit and of getting a wrinkle.  Is there a disease name for that because if there is that's what I have.  I'm a freak when it comes to my face. No one is allowed to touch my face and if someone does I immediately go to the bathroom and rinse my face. I just think there has to be a cheaper quicker way to get the same skin.  What kind of soap do you use?  A facial soap I hope.  Regular soap is very drying and can age your face prematurely.  Sorry.  Sometimes you have to ignore me when it comes to skin care.

im real weird when it comes to me face being touched, NO ONE is allowed to touch my face lol michael has to have clean hands if he wants to..if someone does it i get freaked out and have to wash my face immediately.. if its quite serious and takes over your life it can be called an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ..(not saying your like that though) ..

Im pretty lucky as i only get a zit once a month if that ..usually around 'that time' of the month(sorry guys if your reading) i think genetics help alot when it comes to what skin you have. . as for wrinkles they aren't appearing yet (im only 23)..but minor wrinkles i think are fine without them our faces would have no exspression..

I cant use soap on my skin as it drys it like a desert and leaves it soo sore and i never use water! as it also ruins my skin with the chemicals added and especially as i live in a hard water area ..its full of limescale.. i always use the same products by Garnier as they really make my skin look clear and healthy ..and apply with a cotton wool pad .. it doesn't take much time say 10 minutes to do the whole lot.. i moisturise like crazy aswell which helps alot towards the future look of your skin

When I was in High School, I just used Noxema to clean my face. I don't really do anything now because I rarely wear makeup, and that was what I mainly used the Noxema for, was to clean the makeup off my face.

A few months ago, I decided to try to sell Mary Kay (that lasted all of a month...but I got to keep all the stuff! lol), and they have this kit called Time Wise that I tried a few times. It's suppose to minimize lines and stuff, but since I don't have any of those yet it's kind of hard to tell if it really works or not. It does make my skin soft. But I always forget to use it. I'm anal about keeping my skin clean, but I don't really think about wrinkles and stuff yet since I just turned 24 and people always think I'm still 18. I'm sure I'll get really anal one day when I get that first wrinkle

I don't have any wrinkles yet but I'm terrified of getting one.  Do you think the timewise will help keep me from getting them?  I went to my doctor yesterday and I talked to him about it.  Obviously he's trying to push his products but I honestly believe he thinks his are best.  There has to be something to equal don't you think?  My face cleanser is like 85.00 I think.  I do have to buy that one every month and usually my exfoliator and we won't even talk about how much that one costs.  All of the others are just every 2 or 3 months and they are ridiculously priced also.  My husband doesn't complain about it because he knows how anal I am about my face and he knows if he complained I'd flip but I am trying to cut back on my spending a bit.  I think this is one area that can do some adjusting don't you?

I think I am obssesive comulsive.  I wash my hands all of the time.  Not because I think my hands are dirty or I'm afraid of getting a cold but I'm afraid I'll get an itch and I'll have to touch my face so I want my hands to be clean so I don't make my face dirty.  My friends in the neighborhood call me a fairy.  They say I just flit around my house all day with all of these little clips in my hair and it makes me look like a faity.  I do.  I don't want my hair to touch my face and make it dirty.  No bangs here!

Maybe I'll look into the Mary Kay stuff.  I'll call my doctor tomorrow.

I don't know the name of the soap I use. I do know its a brand I got from Target. I try not to spend so much on my face. LOL!!! But yes its a face soap and it is very mild. I love to exfoliate though. My face is as smooth as a babies butt. My mom also has good skin but from tanning she has gotten some ageing from that. When I tan I do use some sort of spf on my face.

But I hate for anyone to touch my face. YUCK!!! You don't know where their hands have been. I remember when I went and got my tongue pierced I told the guy not to touch the face. He thought that was funny.

i think the aging process of skin has alot to do with heredity. i have very young looking parents. and all five of us kids look younger than we are. i was asked for I.D until i was in my 30's.i have never used alot of stuff on my skin, especially being so fair complected and with allergies. my doctor told me years ago that dove soap was the best thing i could use on my skin.and that is all i use.i have no wrinkles (knock on wood)as of yet.i think using to many things can be worse sometimes than nothing at all but plain old soap and water. this pic was takin a couple of years ago . i was 47.

I have a friend that swears by the Mary Kay Time Wise products...However, I am sure your doctor knows much more about this kind of stuff....but I think Mary Kay is suppose to be more reasonably priced.

You know, I try not to worry too much about this kind of stuff....You are going to age and I think most of it depends on genetics...so there is not a whole lot you can do...unless you are rich enough to have surgery!
