Mia was good again- on a side by side walk

Mia has always been strange dog aggresive.  I think so anyways, since I have had her!  I fostered her fell in love {nothing unusual!  Who DOSNT fall in love with fosters!}   But I did end up placing her, and she was returned after because she was just "too much".  Then I  ended up adopting her!  Today, when my kiddy-corner neighbor came over {with her awesome Timber! They have been trying to help for a while now with Mia and her prob.} to ask if Mia and I wanted to try again, Mia ran up on the steps, and was being so submissive!  She was actually shaking!  But me and my oldest son calmed her down, and then she just layed there, like Timber was not there!!  Totally relaxed!  It was a giant step in the right direction for Mia!

Im so proud of her!  We together walked all around the Park and not one growl, not anything from Mia!  I wonder if it is because of our sit, stays-or because of my children and I ,  being at there house enough that maybe Mia has smelled him sooo  much  after we have been there, and around Timber, that she just isnt worried?  Maybe she knows he is not a "threat" now?  He is also at our house too, and her usual response has been to bite at the screen window if she is in the house!  Which makes me a little hesitant!  I would die if she actually went after Timber even though he COULD definatly defend himself if needed!  He is a Am Staff- who really looks like a Pit bull!  He looks like "Shinys black pretty boy" on here!  Except his coat is brindle!

So maybe Timber isnt strange to her anymore-but even the 'bunny' that both Timber and Mia saw got them both SO excited I had Mia in a "Sit-stay", and then I also tell her "relax", and she listened!!!

I think it is just a good example of how some dogs that person, after person reject, and assume to be "Too dog aggresive", or just too "High maintaince", CAN be trained!!  Im a even prouder mommy then before now!!!  Just wanted to share Mias accomplishments!  Its been a long, long road, and it just gets more rewarding with every mile!  And SMILE too!  She is doing so much better then I would have ever expected!  Still didnt let them close enough to bite after Mias first experience with Timber, but pretty darn close, and most of the time Mia didnt even seem to notice Timber this time!  We still have work to do with Mia- but I enjoy it, and I think Mia feels happier too!

glad you are making some headway with mia ..Harvey has never been dog aggresive but we had a multitude of problems with his behaviour stemming from him being abused ..but like you we took it slowly and dogs can be rehabilitated ..well done for not giving up on her

I think anyone who loves there furry "problum child", should just spend some time- and they will get there time invested back by 3 folds.   Dog 13  At least that is what I have gotten back with my girl Mia at least! Bouncy 4  She really is a blessing!!!!  She amazes me everyday, she is such a good girl!!

Good for you Twink in not giving up on an "abused animal!"  Many just need love, love, and more love!!
