POLL~Passive Smoking/ effects on pets

I was just thinking about Passive smoking and how it affects children etc and was wondering what your feeling or views are on Passive smoking around your pets as the focus is mainly on the effects it has on people.. I have never done a poll before so i may muck it up lol.. but feel free to put any additional comments aswell

I quit smoking a little over a year ago. But before then I did smoke on the screened in front porch with the sog out there with me half the time.

I quit smoking over 3 years ago, I think. I only smoked when I was out with friends but I'd gotten to the point that even if I was around it, I'd wake up the next morning having somewhat an asthma attack, so I quit altogether. I don't even like to go to bars anymore, I wake up the next morning with the same feeling.
But I have always wondered what happens to pets when people smoke inside or around them. Just like kids, I'm sure it does something to them. Mollie never liked it when people came around her that smelled like smoke. Never. Especially men, so maybe she was abused by a man that smoked.

Smoking is banned in the house..people always whine but i hate the smell of the place the next morning ..so smoking goes on outside. I'm guessing the effects must be the same between humans and pets as both have the ability to get cancer ..

i smoke, although i dont allow it in my house. i have a smoking section out on the front porch. that way it is away from my pets as my dogs go in and out through the back door. also, if you go in peoples houses where they are heavy smokers, everything has a yellow tint to it. my parents bought a new home a few years back and they recently had to paint because the walls were so yellowed from the smoke. they never even realized it because they had gotten so used to it. now my mom makes everyone smoke outside on the deck.

I put don't smoke, but I used to. Way back in the day in the house with no pets but kids, then outside with pets and kids but the bunny was outside with me. I quit about a year ago though.

I don't smoke. I did get to see Lillys veiw on smoking last weekend. I was at the park and someone I knew knelt down to chat. He was smoking, and Lilly starting moving all over the place. She did not like the smell of it. I told him that, and he said wow, she sure is sensitive.   She does the same thing if I go to put hairspray or perfume on she runs off the bed. and out of the room.
