My dad was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver. He is on the way to the emergancy room right now. Please pray for him. I'm not sure how progressed it is. But if its too bad they may have to transplant. I'm gonna go to the ER with my cousin and aunt. I'll check back in here later.
so sorry to hear about your dad. i will ask my sister to have my dad say a prayer for him at their prayer service tonite.and i will also. kepp your chin up. medicine has come a long way. there is so much that can be done now. take care and let us know how he is doing. we wuv ya !
Oh Paige, I am so sorry. You know I just had a scary bit with my dad. You guys were all so good to pray for him. I will definately do the same!!! Wishing you the best. Keep us posted.
Paige, I feel your pain. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 1996 and died in 1997 when I was 16 years old. I've never gotten over it. Ever need to talk...just let me know.
New techniques of re-growing livers are coming about now, even with stem cell research and stuff...which is controversial, but if it were me or my family and its all we had, of course I'd do it.
I will keep you in my prayers. I KNOW this is a hard time and its so scary. You feel helpless. I surely hope you keep us posted on his progress and may the good Lord be with him and bless him with a recovery or a transplant.
Okay, I am back and with some good news. Now they think he just has Hepatitis A. Which has some of the same symptoms of Cirrhosis. But hep A can be treated. They said that since he is a truck driver and eats at tons of resturants and fast food places that his chances of getting it are high. But he is still in some pain. Its real good to know that I have people to talk to when I need it.
wonderful news !! hep A is very treatable. and the restaraunt eating is more than likely how he contracted it. great news and glad to see hes going to be fine. he just might want to start packing his own lunches for awhile. lol
thats great news paige that he is not in such a serious state as you imagined. Atleast hep a is treatable ..i didnt know you could catch it eating in restaurants
Not that it's wonderful that he has Hep A, but compared to the initial diagnosis, that is great news! Thanks for the update & hopefully he'll feel much better soon!
that was what i supposed to say but it came out abit wrong ~sorry paige if i seemed pleased at the hep a thing

I understand what you are saying. But there are different types of Hepatitis. You mainly here of Hep C and thats from people sharing needles and such. Its very bad to have Hep C. But with Hep A its very treatable and you get it from people that don't wash their hands that have Hep A. And most of the people that get hep A get it from restaurants.
He actually got a good nights sleep last night for the first time in a week. So I hope he just gets better from here. But I read that you can have symptoms for up to 9 months with it.
He is feeling a tiny bit better. The doc gave in some pain meds and a liquid laxative to flush all the toxins out of his system. The liquid lax is like very syrupy and it makes him almoat puke when he drinks it. LOL!! I have a feeling that he won't be up to par for a while.
