Alot of you know that we rescued a kitty a while back and we named her Cinder. She is the one that was neglected by her owners and had a broken jaw that was never seen or taken care of. Anyway, we are having trouble with her. She will not go after Tiocy because Tiocy has learned that she is boss of this house and Cinder went after her once but Tiocy turned around and attacked her back. Tiocy will not start any fights but she will defend her self, now my problem lies with Asha, Asha is a rescue too but she is about three years old and a total sweetheart, she will not do anything, all she wants is attention from everyone. But for some reason Cinder HATES her, she will attack her from across the room, she just comes flying over slapping and hitting and growling and chases Asha through the house, Asha gets so scared of her I do not know what to do. I am afraid that Cinder will kill her, she has had her cornered before and she is relentless. Poor Ash doesn't even fight back. I don't like it but I have been throwing Cinder outside just to keep them seperated. I try to alternate them so that they each get time in the house but I really would just like everyone to get along. Today Asha was sitting on my lab and Cinder attacked her ON ME!! I don't know what to do with her. She lived with other cats and got along fine with them before we got them. Anybody have any ideas on how to make her at least tolerate Asha's presence?? I am at my wits end.
I had the same problem when I brought my kitten serenity into the house. Both of my other cats hated her. When I saw my mothers cat chasing and attacking serenity I got up and cronered my mothers cat tigger. I picked him up and went over to serenity I pined tigger down so he couldn't do anything and let serenity smell him. I did this everytime.I even had to spank him sometimes. And after about 6 months they got along great. They even sleep together now.
i wish i could help you but i'm not real savvy about cats. maybe you can put cinder in a crate everytime she attacks the other cat. give her a time out. keep her nails cut so that she cant claw the other cat. or spray her with water everytime she goes after the other cat. cats dont like to be sprayed and that alone might put a stop to her attacks.
