Hyde is doing pretty good with his potty training, he hasnt had an accident in 3 days, which is pretty good for a 3 month old.
I follow him everytime he leaves my sight and for the last two days I have noticed that when he needs to go potty he goes to the back door, but other then standing by the door, he doesnt make any noises or anything, so if I dont follow him I wouldnt know if he needed to go out.
So I was thinking of putting bells on the back door and try and train him to ring the bells when he needs to go out.
Has anyone done this before? If so how did you train them to ring the bell. I just keep hitting the bell right before I open the door, but im not sure if this is the right way. Thanks
Thats what I did, it did not take the first few times and I stopped, but a month or so tried again. It stuck then. she got it the same day. What I did was say do you need to go outside?? All happy sounding, then showed her the bells, rung them, had her touch the bells, saying to you need to go outside. she then swatted the bells with me smacking them. It may take a little time but just keep doing it. Lilly still swats the bells at 11 months. i put duct tape around the edges so's the bells don't scratch up the paint.
