I mention something about a month ago about Derrick. He was peeing blood, etc. Well, he was treated a couple weeks ago and everything was going fine until yesterday at work (him and Matt work together) and he went to pee, and when he finished, He called Matt in to see and blood was everywhere, floors, walls, etc. He went in for surgery today and the doctor said it's likely he has prostate cancer. :( He'll get the results in 4 days....too damn long if you ask me! I was reading it makes you infertile if they remove the prostate, and he was 20 when he first child was born (Sarah, in my sig) I'm taking that as a sign...Maybe it was great he had her so young. Everything happens for a reason, I always say.
Pray for him, guys. He's really upset. :(
EDIT: Matt told me tonight that the doctor said he has the prostate of a 70 year old and when he went to take a piece for biopsy, it was basically falling apart. :/
i will say a prayer for him. hopefully they caught it early. its a very slow cancer, but cureable if caught early. my cousins husband has it. they figure he has had it for about 7 years now. his wife, my cousin, passed away last year from pancreatic cancer. she lived for 6 months after they found it and did surgery. it is the worst kind to get.prostrate cancer is way more treatable with a better prognosis. they have come a long way in cancer research. i will pray for a full recovery.
Yeah, he would bleed only when he went to pee. He was peeing blood clots for a while, and he had one yesterday. One doctor said he was bleeding because the last doctor tore the bladder lining trying to remove a tumor (it was benign) now they think it's prostate cancer....we won't know until Saturday, I guess. I just hope if they do remove it, it will clear up. He has a 6 month old so if he becomes sterile, I'm so glad he had her as early as he did. He had a bladder tumor, which was what they thought was the only thing causing it, then he has only one kidney, and the other isn't there or it's too small to do anything, and now he may have prostate cancer. He can't catch a break! Him and Matt are like brothers, I really hope it's ok because it'll kill Matt if something happened to Derrick.
Huh. Well, here's hoping they fix it this time. Get him to drink straight aloe vera juice[no additives] when he comes back. It heals internal bleeding in the digestive tract. I have taken witch hazel capsules when the bleeding was worse, but it sounds as though his problem is more severe, even, than that. It was likely something they screwed up in the 1st surgery. Make sure he stays well hydrated, also. Bleeding is caused by internal dehydration[causes hemorroids, ulcers etc.] Some foods, like red meat, alcohol, cause dehydration. He should study, and adjust his diet to cater to his weakened body, for a bit. http://www.medicinenet.com/dehydration/article.htm http://www.alumbo.com/article/13320-Relieve-constipation-with-aloe-vera.html
Thats very scary for Derreck but i presume he is still young and otherwise healthy in which case his body is alot fitter to fight the cancer.
Michaels dad is nearly 60 and he knew he had prostate cancer for a long time but done nothing about it It wasnt until he went into Hospital we and his wife knew about it. Well he came out fine ..lost alot of weight through stress but the cancer is gone.
Since they said he has a prostate of a 70 year old, I'm taking that as cancer. :/ We'll know Friday for sure. I'm sure if he does have it, he will consent to remove it. My mom said it can damage the bladder, and he may lose some control of his bladder (bladder sits right on top of prostate and helps hold urine in) Mom said he may need viagra or something, but him being 21, I'm sure he will come out of it fine. Matt said he'd blow his brains out if he couldn't get an erection...but he was just being silly. Matt told me Derrick said you can't live without your prostate...someone needs to give him better information and not lie to him.
