Mom's white GSDs

I found a couple of cute pics of my mom's white GSDs. Please ignore the layer of white fur on the stairs.

She's very pretty. My aunt used to have a white GSD. Her name was Happy and that was the most hyper dog I have ever been around.

What layer of white fur on the stairs? I have hairballs bigger than that under my chairs and foot stools. When we open the doors or walk into a room, they gently roll across the floor. They're like having pets that don't have legs and we don't have to feed.

The white GSDs are really beautiful!! Do they sunburn or get really pink (when It's hot) like my little pink "hippo" Gracie?

Pretty dogs. I love the look of the shepards. Just this past weekend I was lovin on my brothers friends black shepard mix. He looked mostly like a think shepard. Half lab.  He was a sweetie. We had 3 shepards when I was growing up.

our gsd harley,is a black and tan. they are my favorites. the white ones are pretty too. i got a royal chewing out on another forum for saying that i think that white dobermans are "striking" looking. but i think the white shepherds are too.  Munchy

Thanks all! I will have to tell my mom all the nice comments her babies received. Windy is not a puppy, but she is much smaller than Lucy. She also does not have a double coat.

The difference between the white dobes and the white GSDs is that with GSDs, it is just a normal color variation, just one of the colors they come in. With the dobes, the color comes with health defects, therefore making it really unethical to deliberately breed for white ones.

Thanks. No, they get brushed, but no haircuts for them.

i read up about the white dobermans and seen where they can have health issues. i would never breed them or condone anyone else doing it. i just said that they are striking looking. there is a girl on my bulldog forum that has a white boxer. probably one of the most beautiful dogs i have ever seen. i will see if she minds if i post her pic here.

Dusty i once got ripped to pieces for making the same comment as you ..that white dobermans are 'striking to look at'. I made it clear that i dont agree with breeding them but hey got ripped apart none the less

Pitpat you crack me up that was too funny!

Shiny your only partially right hun. While they do have health problems there are other differences and the main one is that white shep's are exactly that they are white but dobes are not white those are albino dogs there is no such thing as a white doberman.

They are striking dogs and that is what irresponsable breeders count on to sell these dogs to people that do not realize they are getting a dog that is anything but what the breeder says it is.

they wouldnt sell one to me ! lol. i am totally hooked on the french bulldogs. i love my gsd and have had him for ten years, but theres nothing i have ever owned that compares to the love and personality in these little muscle bound guys. we are looking to get another one, but decided to wait a bit . they are soooo pricey. and their litters are small. average 3 pups. so it will be awhile before we even start looking. we are thinking about the next one being a reverse (tiger ) brindle. so it might be a long search. lol

I have never heard of double coated. Plus about 50% of the ones I have seen have been in the pound and they hadn't been groomed so that might have something to do with it.

When i look at photos of your frenchies I can't really tell but that might be that they original have shorter hair then a GSD.

i can tell because i am with them. annies coat is real soft and sleek. rocky's is alot more coarse and thicker. especially around his neck. when i give them baths i can get a good lather on annie, but rocky's fur is so dense the water just rolls off of him. i have to work alot harder at bathing him.
