On June 4th I noticed a small lump ( like a uncooked grain of rice) on “ Bruce’s” Chest near his left front under arm/leg. ( under the skin in the muscle) I have been watching in and noticed that at times it will swells and then shrink back. So I called my vet Yesterday and spoke to Him and Today I was asked to come in. He aspirated the area ( tumor) and results came back “ MAST CELL “ tumor.
Monday “Bruce Is scheduled for surgery. The tumor will be removed and sent to the lab… from there we will know what stage the M.C. Tumor is in. In all hopes it will be in the 1st stage and removed…. ~~~
All 3 of my babies are given full body *touch* massages .. almost every day… beside the obvious reason of relaxation and calmness it gives… the MORE important reason is the continually check for any … **no matter how small** … changes. [ …diligent on their health care…]
My Vet said he has never had anyone ( that is not staff ) catch such a small tumor… and hopes that it has been caught at this size will bring good results back from the lab…
thats awfull Ivy but hopefully you caught it early enough..Im forever checking Harvey as about 3/4 months ago he had a lump come up on his foot..took him to the vet thinking it would be the worst like Cancer but luckily it was just a benign (sp?) tumour and it disapeared within a month..
Sorry..would you like me to delete them. I just figured everyone would be curious and look at them either way. LOL!!! Trust me it doesn't look too graphic.
Awww, poor guy! Does he have to wear a lampshade? Manson had 3 or 4 drains like that and he removed them himself, so we had to take him back to have them put back and they gave him a lampshade (E-Collar) to wear. Once he was feeling better I think he hated the lampshade more than the stitches!
I hope Bruce gets to feeling better soon and that the problem was fully eradicated.
So far SHiny... he's been good...so no " lamp shade" but he hurts...
I have never heard him "moan yowl" before .. it's the saddest sound I ever heard.. broke my heart! He cried all night. I had him in bed with me and just rubbed him all night to sooth him. He is limping this morning pretty bad... but al least he is sleeping a little more without wincing. I have to carry him up and down the stairs to go out… he is very good about it… but I know that hurts too .. =( ! Hubby fell last night trying to carry him outside … right down the stairs! Hurt himself - good. But I have to give him props… he did not drop “Bruce” and protected him… at the expense of his back and elbow. So we are just frelling full of injury events and illnesses.. gee wiZ! Lol.
“ Cricket” is back on anti-bio for the V. Disease (head tilt) the root of the infection I guess we did not get completely … so another 3 weeks… Ug!
I am so sorry to hear that he is in pain. Hopefully he'll get to feeling better really soon. Do we know if the surgery was a success yet or are we waiting for that? I hope its okay to ask that question. I just want to make sure he's going to be okay.
