Happy moment...

well some of you may know that harvey was physically and verbally abused when he was a pup and didnt know how to read mine and michaels friendly loveing emotions..Harvey always reacted with fear to any voices or touch no matter how soft and quiet we were. I guess he had to learn what it was to be loved and kissed and cuddled, well i always worried that Harvey didnt feel Happy ( im stupid i know lol but hes mine and michaels pride and joy ) ..Harvey finaly got over his issues and it was a great moment when he started to wag his tail when we came home and enjoyed our company and love..that was about 4 months ago..

any way to day when i came down this morning he went bananas as usual..he always looks like he is gonna wag his bum off and the he actually SMILED!!! over and over..his eyes were half closed, and his lips were pulled back at the front -showing just his fornt teeth..it looked like a snarl but wthout the anger just happyness lol

OMG i never thought he would do that especially not Harvey..and i ran shouting up the stairs to tell michael to get out of bed  and come and watch him do it..i was like some crazy mother lol and michael came down all bleary eyed and as soon as we walked through the door Harvey started smiling and wagging his bum again .. *sigh* happy days lol

[Why is mommie laughing hysterically, and not letting me into the house? I am tired, I played real hard in the wet stuff...]

Twink you explained it sooo well. I'm here in Cali with a big smile on my face just envioning it. I know how sweet it is to have a shy dog come out of its shell. Its amazing he did it for his daddy too.

That is super!  Just goes to show how well you & Michael have done with Harvey helping him become the happy, secure, well-loved furguy that he is!  Great job!

That's great news.  I hope you can get a pic next time.  It's such a wonderful feeling to watch a dog who had an unfortunate beginning make progress.

Kitty--I love the lab frown picture.
