In the paper

I read in the newspaper this morning that a lot of apartment complexes here are letting hurricane victims/familes stay rent free in apartments for two months. Just long enough to get on their feet. I hope more apartments are letting people do that. I think its awesome that Wichita Falls are opening up there empty units and schools for these familes. I think so far 14 familes have moved in to about 5 differnent complexes.

Thats how it is going in dallas. Hotels, Apt., and even some people who have rental houses are all letting familys that are from the hurricaine zone live in them for free for a certain amount of time.

it will be so hard for these people the first few months. having to start over from scratch. most of them lost everything they own. the ones going into their own apartments will need everything. dishes, pots and pans, silverware, beds and even simple things like can openers. it will take time to rebuild their lives. they are also jobless now too and most lost their vehicles too . my heart and home goes out to these people. it is our duty as americans to help any way we can. its wonderful to see the help pouring in from all parts of the world.

I her a lady talking at the baseball game I went to last night and she said that george bush was turning away help from some other countrys but that doesn't sound like george bush. Who knows until communtication is back up along the coast and everywhere else that the hurricanie hit we will never know if what we have been hearing about help from other countrys is true or not. At least they can't say that they don't have the money to help cause we all know thats not true.

More than 20 countries have tried to offer help, and last I heard, the federal government had not accepted any of it.  France was the first to offer, and Sri Lanka, which was hit by the tsunami, wants to send $25,000.  We know we look bad when Sri Lanka thinks we need the money more than they do.

I totally agree oasis. We are always helping others in time of need why shouldn't we let them help us in our time of need.
