As many people here know my hubby ride dirt bikes. I can ride but not a 250 (motor size). Well today I got brave and jumped on! BIG MISTAKE! I made it about 4 feet when the front tire came off the ground. I tried to recover but didn't happen. The foot peg went right into the back of the thigh (anyone who's seen a dirt bike foot peg will cry for me). I have about a 6 inch long gash at the least, and it's about 1\2 inch wide if not more. When I went down I somehow got my hand on the pipe which the bike was still running at least 300+ degrees. I also have a bunch of brusies. I can't sit down, I can barely walk and my hand is killing me!


The dirt bike faired out pretty well considering it ended up in a barb wire fence. It just has some scratchs on the front fender. Hubby feels so bad and he's actually cooking dinner tonight. I called my supervisor and told her about it and she told me to have someone come in early with me tomorrow and I can go home early. I told her if she didn't believe me i'll show her tomorrow! LOL She passed.

I am in bed. My computer is next to my bed! I had alot of things that I needed to do today. I got some of it done but not too much. Hubbys finishing everything I had to do.


I thought he was going to pass out when he saw it. He turned white as a ghost. When he picked the bike back up I didn't know I was hurt execpt for my hand. When I tured around hubby noticed my jeans were ripped. He looked at the foot peg and it was (sorry if this is gross or to much info) covered in blood and skin. He asked if I was OK and I told him yes just get on the bike and get me home.

Put Aloe Vera on that burn, that healed up my pipe burn pretty quick. The gash sounds icky. You sure you don't need stitches?

I had my mom look at the gash she used to be a paramedic (sp). She said stiches could go either way that if I was to go in the ER they would prolly put them in just to keep the infection out. I'm heading out to donate my son's old cloths to the hurricane victims in a little while and i'm also stopping at the drug store I need some more gaus (sp) and something to put on the gash. I've already cleaned it once and i'm going to clean it again in a little while when I take a shower, i'm putting it off casue as of right now the gash it's self doesn't hurt and I know once water hits it, it will. I think my body is in shock cause all the pain is slowly going away. I went to the fridge to get something to drink and saw some beer, LOL I had all I could do not to grab one I knew that would thin out my blood and make it bleed as it hasn't really yet. I was expecting it to bleed really bad once I cleaned it and it never did.


Hubby said if it was him, he'd be in tears and in the ER right now, he doesn't know how i'm handing the pain. LOL He thought I would be crying and screaming in pain by now.

OMG...  Stormy... those pegs are vicious!!!  no need of stitches?   Glad it was not worse... Hope your all healed up soon ~

I think that is true... can you imagine a Man going through hours and hours of labor and then birthing a baby??

That seriously sucks. Hope you feel better soon. And its true about men. Women have a much higher pain tolerance than them.

geez stormy. today wasnt your day. you better kick back at home and relax now and let the hubby take care of you for awhile. sorry that you were injured and hope it heals fast and without alot of pain. Motorcyle

holy stormy it sounds like youv'e had a day from hell ~ That was a nasty fall~ those foot pegs are evil and i know how much they hurt.. pipe burns suck aswell i have burnt the end of my fingers and that was painfull enough. Will you ride again?

Oh Yeah i'll ride again, just a smaller bike LOL. I think i'll stick to the 125's and 80's 250's are too much.


Today it's still hurting but it's swollen and really bruised.  My son saw it, goes Boo Boo and pokes at it! OMG!! I swear they are all trying to kill me. The pup comes running while playing with Storm and runs right over me and right over my gash! Those little claws are PAIN!


My knee is swollen from the bruising there I can only bend it a little under half way. Yeah imma gimp for awhile!

Maybe you need to sit in an epsom salt bath, to help with the swelling.

Ouch!!!  I hope you are feeling better!  Make sure to keep an eye on that gash & get yourself to the dr. asap if you even think there is a chance that infection is setting in!
